Yes... running with the big-wig! She's very fit and typically runs much faster than me... even though I'm a good foot taller than her. We hung together for the first 5 miles and then she said she was going ahead. She left me in the dust! GRRRRR! Regardless, it was a good workout and I'm feeling very good about my first week of the 20-week program. Now it's off to lunch... I will check in later! P.S. Is it Friday yet?!?!?!?!?!?!? Don't know what it is about smaller people but they always seem to be fast. Or maybe I'm just slow enough that everyone seems faster then me. I did pass some people in the half mary two weeks ago so I'm not the slowest on the planet. That was a boost to my confidence. It has something to do with all the extra weight I'm carrying around. |

You knocked that one out of the park. Sad - isn't it ? - LOL Not sad... just reality. If I told my wife, "Um honey... I'm grabbing some supplies and a tent and I'm going on an overnight camping trip... see you sometime tomorrow" ... she'd laugh, then just give me that look... you know... THAT look. Then I would curl up into the fetal position and start sucking my thumb. |

That would be awesome Bikepacking as our buddy Tim likes to call it I am totally unprepared but who cares - LOL All I need is a tent, sleeping bag, and some money for fuel! Sounds like fun. Be careful. What does your wife think of these spontaneous trips? That is why I won't be going Paul That and my tube fund is running low - LOL Ever find anything else causing the flats? Our plans basically include as much swimming as possible but when I say that I mean in 2 year olds terms...so lots of playing! My shoulder is killing me and I'm sure its from catching Sammi as she jumps in the pool over and over again. At least our last week here in HI is nothing but FUN! As soon as we get to WA I plan on finding a sports medicine doc (hopefully) who will take our insurance! I see you did your longest ride yet a few days ago ~ awesome job!! You are more than ready for the oly in May! |

I'm going to try and at least get one OWS in this month tomorrow. Sorry guys, I feel like I'm a drag anchor this month. Like everyone told me Tim, these challenges are meant to push you and have fun in the process...right?! And yeah...where did the month go?? |

Master 1632 Almost Canada, WA | Subject: RE: The "A" Team pdbman - 2010-04-29 6:03 AM Happychick - 2010-04-28 5:47 PM Hey All! I just wanted to pop in and play cheerleader as well as give an update! First off, I see we (I say that as if i'm playing still) are slightly behind but I know you all are just saving it so that you can come in at the end and show off what you have...RIGHT?! Next, we are now in the hotel. The movers came on Monday and got our stuff packed and out of the house in record time ~ literally! They showed up at 8 and were done by 1!!! Sam had a rough few nights there (read: about 2 hours sleep...if we were lucky!) but she seems to have settled down and even slept ALL NIGHT last night *sighs with relief* We just kept telling ourselves that she has no clue why her world is totally being turned upside down but thank goodness she is better now. It did make my heart do a slight flip when she asked me yesterday when we were going home ~ how do you explain to a 2 year old that you don't really have a home right now?! I just told her that our new home was in Wa where we will get to see grandpa and she was ok with that (times like this, I love the fact that explaining things to kids can be so simple!) Our flight leaves Saturday night so aside from a few minor appts, we are enjoying the last of this perfect weather!! Sounds like things are going as best as can be expected given your situation. Hope you get settled in ok. I assume we'll see you back in the challenge in June since you'll be in the middle of the move for the first part of May. Yeah, things are going so smoothly that I keep saying this is what we are supposed to be doing. Mike has questioned whether or not he should be retiring but this pretty much confirms that it is the right time! I'm thinking May will be pretty busy since we already have plans to update some things in the house in addition to getting settled. Needless to say, you are correct in thinking it won't be til June when I'm back in the challenges! My marathon training is supposed to start in May but that will all depend on what is going on with my shoulder...we shall see! |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: The "A" Team Well the weather cleared some here. Nice and windy though, so everything is blowin' Arnie's (Paul) way. I forced myself to go out to the lake today and get at least one OWS done for the month. Water wasn't bad. If I had to guess, I would say about 58 degrees. Transitioned from the swim to a trail. I did the upper portion of the 10k loop for the Xterra. It was tough. Trail was muddy and slippery making the climbs and descents a pain in the butt. Rest day tomorrow, race Saturday. |

Expert 1246 West Grove, PA | Subject: RE: The "A" Team We're on tap for a gorgeous weekend... sunny and mid 80's... YEE HAH!!! Long bike ride Saturday morning (I pick up my bike from the LBS tomorrow on my way home from work). We are actually opening our pool on Monday. It probably won't be swimmable for a few weeks (brrrrrrr!), but just seeing the water will make me long for Summer. This day has dragged on and on and I'm ready for it to be over! |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: The "A" Team pdbman - 2010-04-29 10:43 AM Hey Heidi, how's the snow up there? I hope you made it to Wyoming safely. Had a pretty easy drive yesterday. The wind blew all the way, and there was snow on the high spots, but nothing serious. About an hour after I went through one pass, my sister turned around there and went back. The temp had cooled and the snow piling up. Today we went on a hike in the mountains along the green river. The sandstone formations are fascinating! Thanks for thinking of me! |

Subject: RE: The "A" Team I just tweaked my race schedule a bit. Just signed up for a sprint on May 8th. It's the week before my A race...an Olympic on the 16th, but for $40, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I haven't raced since March 21, and have been dying to ever since. I'm also cutting back 3 run races (15k, 20k, 25k) later this year to make room for a century ride, and the Dick Evans Memorial race...the 112 mile bike race which the Ironman was founded upon. Also doing a 40k TT next month. I love to bike...so my races should reflect that. |

Expert 1246 West Grove, PA | Subject: RE: The "A" Team Good morning, A-Team (last time saying that - snif! snif!), I'm off to the Y at lunchtime for a swim and a spin. Not sure where that will put me vs. goals. I hate not having access to the spreadsheet here at work. I think I'm well above my goals on bike, run and posting, but I'll fall a little short on swimming. |
