Here... dont really have Halloween (not a biggie although some poeple might have parties etc - esp since its on a Friday this year), no Thanksgiving and Valentines is probably the closest we have to a 'candy holiday' With the obvious exception of the BIGGIES - Christmas nad Easter are all about food right? |

I'm not sure how it's even possible, but Reese's Pumpkins are even more delicious than a regular Resse's cup. Must. Resist. So true! The Reese's eggs at Easter are the best things ever made and WAY better than the regular PB cups. |

Master 1817 Lafayette, IN | Subject: RE: The Mysterious Dark Arts My work night is done! Time to head home and get started on some school work. I'm hoping on getting to bed by 2am so I can get up early for a swim. I haven't been to the pool since I was named a member of the Mysterious Dark Arts. I've heard that witches float. And we all know that if it's in Monty Python and the Holy Grail than it must be true.

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: The Mysterious Dark Arts ratkat - 2008-10-07 6:39 PM Good morning Cat! Good evening everybody else... I am about to leave work... My whole planned workout is messed up now with all those meetings... I guess I will cut it short tonight. BTW... Did anybody read that article about the workout standards for women for health and weight maintenance will be changed from 3-4 times a week 30 minutes to 5 times a week 60 minutes... ? My spinning instructor was explaining that yesterday... And the only words that she knew after that was "more restistance" and "pull through"... But was a good workout! ;-) I hadn't read that yet - in some ways it's sort of amusing, I mean how many women really even follow the current standards? seems to me that now even more people will say they just can't do it |

The less you move throughout the day, the more of a workout you need each day. |

I'm surprised my friends and family haven't staged an intervention BT has been a life saver and I've met a lot of great people here. When I was out jockstrapping and signing up for IMWI I got to meet a bunch of BTers I'll be racing with so I already feel like I'm doing it with friends. My family prefers me being active to me being overweight... So right now they are happy... Let's see when they start getting concerned about my sanity... But on the other hand... My dad started to get back into sports with around 60 and does a sport certificate (5 disciplins and you have to reach certain time/distance etc) every year since..... Probably runs in the family. My mom and step-dad have just gotten into biking. It's been fun to hear them get all geeked about bike gear. They don't roll their eyes at me so much anymore. my mom and dad are into biking as well actually they were into it (especially my mom) long before I got active - as I recall, the fact that my mom was in better shape than me, was part of my motivation to get back to being physically fit that was a few years before I got into tri's but it was the beginning |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: The Mysterious Dark Arts Dark Arts notes – Volume 5 The day started off a little slow, in fact Beth finally got toppage as well! The day was crawling by for at least 3 of the team members – the others must have been working hard There was some interesting conversation around the debates – I wasn’t around to watch the debate, but from reading the recap, the conversation among the Dark Arts team members was far more interesting. Not to mention the fact that everyone played by the rules Lots of cool discussion around first tri’s and how people got into the sport – and yes, we are all crazy, but in a good way!
Steve (AccidentalChef)- no Steve sightings lately Melissa (BunnyB) – must have had a busy day at work as well – from the sounds of it things are HOT in Cali! Emily (esc) – as a member of the tri community she has many friends that look at her cross eyed when she talks about tris (that’s why you have us ) Apparently Reese’s pumpkins are even more delicious than regular Reese’s peanut butter cup – say it isn’t so! (btw, the picture did look a little strange Cat (kaqphin)- is 5’ 2 ½” tall, just in case you were wondering – now I’d have to say that Phil would look freakishly tall if he was standing next to Cat – lol! Will be cleaning her fridge and pantry since her flatmate is away – apparently he drives her nuts if she tries to do it while he’s there. Cat’s fascination with American food and holidays continues with the comment about the Reese’s pumpkin Kendra (kns57)- had a busy night at the library, but sounds like it will be quieter for her today and she should get a bit more caught up on her posting Beth (lastcall2003)- went out for a fancy dinner at a restaurant called Tangerine. Sadly, will not be posting any Fay Raye pics as they were immediately deleted – they were AWFUL! Matt (mdb) – Matt got in a nice bike and swim yesterday – perhaps a nice run in those new shoes is on tap for today! Judi (QueenZipp) – while she can’t post with us during the day, she does peek in to see what’s going on. In her spare time she has been known to do a fine imitation of certain team members (not naming any names here )in a valiant post padding effort that ended in TOPPAGE! Judi found ufo’s in her fridge (I wonder if there was any sign of alien life in the ufo’s and wow she must have a pretty big fridge – how did they land?) I know, I know – it’s unidentified food object – LOL! Kathrin (ratkat) – her workout schedule was disrupted because of meetings – I hate it when that happens! She also dropped the bomb that for those of us who follow published standards for exercise, women now have to workout 5 times a week for 60 mins. She also shared her great success and her strategy for increasing her fitness and losing weight – WTG! Travis (tlnewman)- sounds like Travis and his wife will be really pushing each other next year with a full race schedule already planned! He and Judi discussed the finer points of post padding while talking to yourself in the thread Sharon (zeefraugtries) – ugh, poor Sharon, her leg is still bothering her – I’m sure she could use some inspires and cheery thoughts! Kristin (LazyMarathoner) – had a busy day at work, got an extension on a project (so now she should have more time to post………………), she had a big glass of wine ate some cheap take out, watched the debates

As soon as my parents got retired they started working out like crazy... a lot of biking, swimming every day during the summer and well tons of projects around the house. That was definitely a part of my descision to start working out again... |
