Well how about that! Three weeks until IMTX, and I think I got a case of hip bursitis. Hurts today after my last long run yesterday, WTH!I think I know what caused it, I took a new route and the terrain was slopped for a long long time. I should have know better.Anyways, swam today 3500 meters no prob. Did 20 min on the trainer today as a short flush, no pain. But laying on my right hip, and touching where the leg meets the hip has some pain.To all future IMTX finishers, should I back of running for a couple days? It is taper week. Or should I take some days off from running? Foam roller and ice, I am even taking the roller to the office. It may go away, I can walk a climb stairs fine. I may be over reacting, but it's to close to game day to take chances and just HTFU. There will plenty of time for that on May 21!

Take some time off running and let it heal. If you go limping into the race with a mild injury it mint end in a dnf. I know this first hand, as my ironman dnf came from me showing up with a mild, almost healed knee problem. Enjoy the taper

What wheels are you planning on using for IMTX? I'm trying to decide if I should use my front race wheel and disk wheel cover (power tap) or not on the course. Certainly the wind will die down in the next 3 weeks. I don't remember it ever being this windy so late in the year.

Hed jet 60s front and rear. No worries on the wind with those, although couple Fridays back it was all I wanted.

Does anyone have a map of the bike course? The cartoon map on the website isn't as helpful as I had hoped and I tried to follow the course on google maps using the turn-by-turn directions but didn't make it half way through before getting lost. Maybe someone local who has been on the course can help?

Thanks for the advice. I will stick to no running for the rest of this week and try again on Sunday, light maybe 3 miles. About to head out to the pool and biking this evening after work.I asked here on BT because there really isn't a better place to ask I think. We all put in the time and train a like. I figure better to ask someone first hand that understands and has done this type of training. 3 weeks to go everyone! Pretty pumped. Thanks as well Catwomen!

I am running my ZIPP 808s - I think this course definitely favors deep/dish wheels.  If the winds are bad, the worst winds will come after 11am from the south or SE so odds are we will mainly be heading straight into them.  If we get moderate cross winds or a northern wind (yeah right) on raceday we all will be soooooo happy.

I'll be riding some deep dish wheels as well.  SRAM S80 front and back; similar to the Zipp 808s, but much much cheaperLaughing  Did many training rides on the coarse with them and they handled well, even with the winds.

The rules don't mention a requirement for a top during the swim, like it does for the run. So I'm guessing I'll be safe in just my tri shorts. Just double checking so I don't get surprised on race day.
