16 days (18h:50').

Today was an early ride in the hood on my beloved MTB. As far as the fatigue... I get tired of forcing myself every day to do something, other than that no issues at all. Not that long ago I was doing much more before the IM. For me pacing is the key, since I don't like to push myself through the pain of going fast, distance and frequency  is much easier handle.

Today: 40:01 bike trainer ride.
Total: 16 days, 20:03:19

Bike trainer ride was horrible for first 20 minutes. I had real trouble maintaining 90 cadence even with the gears really low (so I was going 11 or 12 mph). Boy, I thought my legs must be trashed. Typical morning brain fog --- the brake was rubbing and the tire was rubbing against the rug. Finally fixed it, and voila! my legs were a lot stronger and I could do 90 cadence on a harder gear for the next 20 minutes.

I had a chilly 4.22 mile run this evening.  It's amazing how much discipline it takes to keep the heart rate monitor happy when the temperature drops from 27 deg to 23 deg in the span of half an hour.  But I managed the 33 minute run at an average heart rate of 146 so the last three months of aerobic heart rate running seems to be paying off.  Yesterday was an indoor trainer ride on the bike.

Scott - Today was my first "cold" day of the season - about 30 degrees at 5:30am when I walked out the door.  I saw more people running this morning though than I've seen in awhile.  At least it wasn't windy and/or snowing. -Mitch

You were talking about cold...  I opted not to run this am do to the wind chill of 0 degrees....  This is so not California, or Charleston for that matter.  But I am keeping at the hills and trails with the running and the wind gives plenty of resistance..  Scott always just asks..."how bad do you want it"

Sorry Mitch, Jen and Scott to hear about the cold weather, especially from down here in Guatemala Smile   My challenge today (not as bad as cold weather) was doing my bike workout after a long field day at our shrimp hatchery where we hosted 180 visitors from Latin America and had beers all day long.  However, beers and all, I was able to finish it a few minutes ago!
