I had a new rear-der cable installed on my mt. bike over the summer and it was about $10, parts and labor. The full tune up would run you more. I could run my own cable and will do that next if the de-greasing of the shifter doesn't cut it. Getting your bike worked on is expensive and takes a long time in this area so I have done most of my work myself so far. |

Expert 1231 B'ham | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I hope you had witnesses w/ a camera when you went for that ride w/ WD-40 on your rotors. WD40 is also bad for your chain in case you were wondering. Got my 305 today, so it's off for a run in the morning. We were joking at work today about all the running accessories we have - GPS, HRM, Shuffle, Hydration Pack, Headlamp. So much for running being a simple sport. |

Did anybody end up using the Training Peaks or MotionBased apps after the trial or just use the included software? I haven't looked at either, just wondering if it's worth the time. |

It is REALLY COOL! Oh yeah, and the WD40.... I don't remember what happen... It was something to the affect of either spraying right on it, or spraying the chain, and getting some on the breaks.... Either way it totally sucked!!!!! Edited by swbkrun 2008-11-20 11:03 AM |

They offer more features anyway. I should be getting my Forerunner 305 anyday now too. I AM SO EXCITED! |

HAHA, nice!
BTW, taking the shifters apart and cleaning them out with WD-40 worked like a champ. Though the 10 year old grips on the bike had to go, so back to performance tomorrow to pick up some new ones. I really hope I don't have too much fun, I just can't afford to keep up a road, Tri and Mtn bike all at the same time, at least until I stop having to pay for child care + preschool for 2 kids. |

SUGAR CAN'T SWIM. SUGAR GOT NEW TOY TOO. FORERUNNER 305 ARRIVE YESTERDAY. SUGAR MUST RUN!!!! Besides, I got my hair done yesterday and we can't have my red hair turning green can we? I like this sugar nickname. It beats the sharka** I had to live with all through college. This is much sweeter, it matches my pink bike accessories. (and before you ask Rob, the nickname refers to a discretely placed shark tattoo |

You sure your wife didn't get it so she knows where you're "messing around" Tracy, this device helps people locate you, whereas a GPS helps you avoid the need for people to look for you. And apparently not too discrete if you ended up with that nickname. |

Well 95% of the time my wife is with me! The neat thing as well is that I can go back and double check my route.... LIKE GPS. It kicks out a "WAYPOINT" every 10 minutes! |

Last year this was his frist 5K ever and he couldn't run the entire distance. Way to go DOUG!!!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was filled with the family taking turns with being sick and getting ready for traveling for the holiday. It is very cold around here, lows in the 20's in the early am/pm hours. I haven't had the opportunity to test the 305 and it is is getting very lonely I plan to take him and my swim suit on vacation. With grandma and grandpa around I hope to get out for a few hours this trip. Matt how do you like yours? |
