Well.. the attendance count for my cookout has passed 30. I've already spent over $300 on food and I need to buy more or I'm not going to have enough. I haven't bought alcohol yet, either.

I coulda bought a new mountain bike for what this cookout is gonna cost me. HAHAHAHAHA. I hope it's fun.

I always just provide a little alcohol and luckily most of my friends like to BYOB

Oh, and sorry I won't make it today. I forgot I had another friend's cookout already scheduled.

Next time, for sure.

Hi TAN. It's amazing how quickly you can spend money on food isn't it.

I got off the phone with my mechanic a little while ago. Apparently some vermin ate through some rather important part of my car. If they can even find the right part (which isn't made anymore and is specific to model year and tranny type), it will be an additional 3 hours of labor. Plus the computer probably will need to be replaced (though my mechanic got a good deal on a used one - not sure if it's warranty though). My guess is it likely won't be worth it to fix it, but I'll know more on Monday, when I can start bawling in earnest. Bah.

I'm so sorry

Car issues are THE WORST

It's definitely not a good time.  Though at least it's something that I had no control over, that makes me feel a little better.  There really is no way that I could have seen this coming.

sleepy yet?

my wife and I are making oobleek.

why yes... it IS rather sexy.

-BÂ

Gotta admit I had to google it to figure out what it was. Interesting. Eyes slowly getting heavy.

I got to dance on it... ok, run in place... but very cool.

wait... no... it's beyond cool.

Check YouTube... excellent videos for oobleek.

-B

This one is particularly good for Akustix.

Car stuff just sucks.

Well, the race field wasn't exactly REAL big... see my RR...

Nice RR.  Yeah it's been pretty sticky out the past few days.  My RR from yesterday isn't terribly exciting, but it's the first one I've written.

When do you head back to Sac?

cami,

If I knew ANYONE in Iowa from my car sites, I'd be on the horn ASAP. Some of those guys can fix anything.

I think I know one Saturn guy (it's a Saturn right?) but he's up in Michigan.

Thanks man.  I'm sure that it's fixable, but I'm just not sure fixing it would come at a price I can stomach, ya know.  I knew that this could happen while I was in grad school, but I was hoping that it wouldn't.  Oh well.

Does anybody have anything fun planned for today?  I'm about to take the dog for a quick walk, then I'll head up to an eye dr's appt.  I'll probably ride the trainer this afternoon, feeling a bit too sore to want to risk the roads.  Plus everyone is cramming for RAGBRAI.  It's a bit ridiculous.

I played some BAD tennis this morning. Seriously, compared to how I played Wednesday evening, today looked like I was wearing a blindfold the whole match.

Running in an hour or so, then cleaning up for a friend's cookout in Atlanta proper, then heading back into town to try and find some more trouble tonight.

I'm heading back over to the LBS to look at P2C's for the second time today.  This time I'm going in tri stuff so I can ride it without worrying about my jeans getting caught in the chain.  Anyone know of a LBS within, say 200 miles of D-port that might actually have a Felt B-12 in stock in a 58cm?

You can't catch white skirts playing lousy tennis..  You really need to clean up your game...

Sage advice. It will be taken to heart. See, this is why I'm a proud member of the Shark Nation.

Okay, The Meeps is whining for her walk. Back in a few.

Have you looked in IL?

Yeah, a bit.  Found some tri shops in the Chicago suburbs, just haven't made it back out there since I actually started looking at the bikes.

When are you looking to buy your new bike?  Or is the answer to that as soon as you sell the old one?  How old is your current bike anyway?
