I love it, the motionbased site is much more useful than the packaged software.  All four of us had a 305 for the run Saturday and they were within .03 miles on total distance  (9.60 - 9.63)  for a trail run through tree cover - not bad for consistency.

I've been taking Zicam recently at the first sign of a cold coming on and I swear it works.  With the little one, lots of colds come through our house.  I've either not gotten sick or had shorter, less intense colds since using it.

I did a swim work out today and found out that the pool is actually longer than I thought. I was originally told that it was 20 meters long. As it turns out it is 25. So all this time I was doing longer distances than I thought. No wonder I couldn't get my lap times down in the pool and yet my swim times in the triathlons seemed so much better. Last week I thought I did a 2000 meter swim. It was actually 2500 m.
I have been pretty lucky as far as colds are concerned. I think that one of the biggest reasons is simply staying in excellent shape without over doing it. Now of course having said that I should wake up tomorrow witha sore throat.

Here's a good one for you. I was reading in the paper tonight that a deer was hit by a car and flew through the air only to land on a jogger. The driver of the car and the jogger were OK but the deer unfortunataly was killed. I know it is getting close to Christmas but flying deer already????

So, it's just before 8:00 here and I have my coffee, but nothing to read.

Went to the pool for a swim this morning and the water temp was 90*, Nine-zero.  There are some older ladies that don't swim hard that complain when it's too cold and those of us that swim laps at a decent, (can I claim decent?), pace are really the minority.  I asked up front and got some BS about it varying between 82-90 without more specific control.  I doubt that, it's been trending toward the warm side of late.  I may have to join the Y which is right by my office just for the pool - assuming I can make the sell to my wife.

Been feeling pretty lazy.

Had to take a vehicle to the dealer yesterday, lost alot of gas and vehicle smelled like gas.

They got it up on the lift and said that there was a dead animal in there and that it had chewed through my fuel line... I hate squirrels 650 bucks to get it fixed...

Just got back from a 15 K run. My calves are very tight and sore right now. I am going to ice them down. I've never run that far before. I don't know about this HIM IM thing about now. I could have completed the half mary but didn't want to push it any harder right now. I've got lots of time to get to that distance.

In the sport circuit class today we were doing these squat-explode, jump grap the bar, do a pull-up repeat things.  I don't know when the last time you did a pull-up was, but it's been years for me. - OUCH! There was a lot more strength work today than usual, but still plenty of high intensity cardio too.  I am loving this class, wish it was more than once a week and a bit longer than 60 minutes.

Steve - how are you feeling?

Just ran a 5 miler Turkey trot, did it in 8:37 miles, lol, way faster than I thought I could go.  The last mile I did in 8:10.  Amazing how training gets you faster.

So I went down to the bike shop today to see about shoes, aero bars, new wheels etc. I think it might be cheaper to buy a new bike. The wheels were about $500.00 themselves cheaper aero bars were aroound $100.

Nope, I'm "working" today too - from home.  I've actually been in kid patrol most of the day while my wife shopped with her sister.

Another trail run planned for tomorrow

Nice 7ish mile trail run today.  I was really surprised that my avg HR was only 147, felt like we were going uphill the whole time.

I also survived hanging Christmas lights today.  Being up on a ladder in the rain is not my idea of a good time.

Good morning everyone and welcome to December. We had a small snow storm last night and I was out shovelling snow at 6:30 this am. Man it wasa workout in itself. It was wet heavy snow. The kind that makes really good snowmen but even wetter.
Went out Saturday night to my wife's christmas party. Had a great time dancing etc. Nto too much drinking as I was the DD for her party. Ended to early though I think I was home by midnight. All the young people left kind of early and I think headed out toa abar somewhere in town.
Now its out to the club to work out. Probably a bike run brick today.
Have a great day everyone.

Thanx. I have been to the runners workld website and it looks pretty good. I actually have it as one of my favorites on my computer. Now if I can just work that training in with the biking and swimming then I am set. The only distance I haven't come close to completing is the 94K bike. The most I have done to this point is 40 K. I think I can slowly build that up over the next few months until I can get back out on the road and then really push to getting there. I am not following any set training plan just yet but will have to start again soon. I have some time still as my HIM is not until next Sept. I haven't registered for any other races but I will be doing several during the lead up to it including at leas one olympic dsitance. I have been thinking of doing some super sprints and using them just as a days regular training.

Hello all and I hope everyone had a peaceful turkey day holiday. I just got back into town last night. Was out visiting the inlaws.  Now I am home with a sick child.  I have been slack on my training and these interuptions aren't helping.  I am thinking about trying to follow the 20 week 1/2 iron plan for my race in May, but that means today is day one of training.  Maybe I can get on the trainer or get to the gym when daddy comes home.  I don't know where the time goes during the day but I always seem to run out of it. It seems like everyone's schedule gets busier and I am the one making it all fit together.  Plus you throw in the holidays and aagggggghhhh!!!!  Please tell me you guys are good husbands and you help with the christmas shopping, house decorations, mailing of presents, writing the christmas letter, coordinate family travel plans, take care of the sick kids, etc.....    Don't mean to imply the hubby doesn't help, but I always seem so da*! busy!!   Sorry about the rant.  I hear a sick kid coughing so I have to go. I'll check back in later.
