Going to a celebration for my GRANDfather's 91st birthday if you can believe it !! After that, taking the kiddies to the beach to see fireworks - It is REALLY cool to see fireworks shot out over the ocean at night. We are staying as far away from Daytona (car races) as possible - traffic is horrendous around the 4th weekend.

Sounds like a great time!

Thunderstorms this afternoon.  Supposed to have them every day for the rest of the week.  Hope it dries up before the 4th.  Am going to volunteer at a local MTB race.  Should be fun.  LBS sponsors and they throw a great party.

The only race I've ever run that was long enough to consider using nutrition was the aforementioned half-marathon. And even then, I only did it because my brother said 'here, eat one of these every few miles'. I believe they were hammer gels, and I KNOW they were nasty. So picking a 'favorite' would be tough.

If forced, I guess I'd go with raspberry. Not exactly scrumptious, but that one didn't make me want to stop to throw up. Even now, over a year later, the thought of the vanilla or apple-cinnamon flavors make my stomach turn.

My favorite recovery drink is water. The flavored electrolyte drinks are about as tasty to me as hammer gels.

(Does water even count as a recovery drink?!)

YEP! Its all I can handle after exercise of any kind. Other stuff makes me ill. Later on, I can handle watered down gatorade.

This should be 200. So I'm done for now..

But I'll be back later, to see how the races towards 100% goal completion and 100 pages of padding are going!
