ITS TAPER TIME. YAHOO! short (makeup) swim, nice slow easy. 4 mile run, which im really looking forward to. you get to this point in your training, and can just settle into the fact that you've trained well. i realy take this time to reflect back and i always end up having some of the 'best' runs during taper week. feels like the 'pressure' is 'off' you know. all the hardwork is done. its just mentally getting yourself ready to race. just go and let your body take over. yay! i was thinking about 'dedicating' each mile to someone/something that im grateful for... of course the members of my family rank up there in the top 4, so im gonna dedicate a mile to my husband, and each one of my sons. im sure to dedicate a mile to my new formed TRI CLUB. but i wanted you all to know that im gonna dedicate at least one mile if not several to each of you my GHOULIE teammies. this has been a GREAT challenge to do with THIS particular group. i dunno, we seem to really 'jive' well together. maybe it was just the 'season' i was in, what i 'needed' from a team, but i really, really have had one of the BEST times on a challenge team since participating in challenges here on BT. second only to the time i was on a team w Julesy and Deeders and Phil for the first time. now THAT was a FUN time...i dont even know what challenge it was....then there was the infamous boys vs girls swim challenge. GOOD TIMES! so im not sure what mile you get, ill let you know, but i just wanted to take a moment and tell you how GRATEFUL i am for each one of you. you have encouraged me and inspired me in ways that im sure your not even aware. and you've certainly made this 1/2 MARY trng process MUCH more pleasant and 'doable'.... love ya GHOULIES. i FOUND MY VILLAGE! mwah! stacieb That is really cool Stacie! We'll all be cheering for you for sure. It's good to know that in a few months time, I'll actually be able to enjoy a taper week as well. I've also really enjoyed this challenge, even through it's my first so I have nothing to compare it to. I plan on doing more of these, and that's mostly thanks to all of the Ghoulies. Thanks everyone! oh man, TOM, you got the best of the best challenge teams in my humble opinion. and right off the bat too, you lucky duck! and thanks for all the cheers. im sure ill be feelin' it all 13.1 and theres nothing quite like a pre-race taper, dontcha think? its my favorite training week, not just cuz its tapered, but it gives me a chance to really reflect on what ive learned, how ive grown through the weeks of training prior. it uber cool to re-member. stacieb |

Come on team - post away (only if it does not interfere with running though ) We can win the challenge and hit 4 threads right team? No worries. It looks like Julie is back Yes I just saw that Now we just need Stacie to get in here and we will roll through this thread. If Tom would keep the girls from competing to be on top of him we might get a lot accomplished! I don't know Bill... if the girls want to fight over getting on top of me I say that's fine, as long as they're doing so in a way that contributes to both the running challenge AND the race for page 4. oh it'll contribute alright, dont you worry your cranky IT band, Aquajoggin self mr w.graves, isnt that right girls? stacieb |

YAY for the 100% !!!! plus the extra!! Now I have seen this term a couple of times.. so I have to ask: What is a lsd run ..... are we back in the 60s and 70s trip zone?? I'm sure someone already answered this for you, but in the interest of post padding, I believe it stands for "long slow day." ETA: I stand corrected, Bill. Thanks for clearing that one up! Sunny, but cool and windy. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain and snow...up to a foot in the nearby mountains. Good thing I got in 3.5 miles today, right? Be back later--after I get the kiddos from their various schools... Good thinking getting that run in before the nasty weather hits. Although I'm still a firm believer in procrastination, you made the right choice Amy. |

TWO FINGERED SALUTE! TWO! stacieb Ha, I never even made Webelo! My son actually was a late starter in Scouts but he earned his Webelos badge in the one year he was eligible for Cub Scouts, and now he's having a blast with the Boy Scout troop. We're hoping he can earn Second or First Class by the end of this year. Second or First Class by the end of the year, impressive! Boyscouts grow up to be GREAT men! you should be uber proud, DAD. stacieb I'm very proud indeed. He and I are very different in a lot of things, but we have a lot of interests in common as well and that's what I try to focus on.
