That is absolutely fabulous. I went to UB for both undergrad and grad school, and when I saw her post, I went and bought tickets for his talk (we now live on the other side of the state, but my husband is from Buffalo and his family is still there), and I definitely intend to be at this kick-off. What a great thing they're doing. Can't wait to see it. |

On a side note my kids are awesome. Not one fit, only breakdowns were due to exhaustion, I don't know what we did raising these two but I hope we can continue to replicate it. Abby is newly potty trained and didn't have a single accieent in the drive from Houston to Orlando or any time in the park. I'll get pics up as soon as we can upload them. Really it was a total blast. |

While I sometimes fall into this mindset, I waffled on putting the 70.3 sticker Cindy got me for Christmas on the car or not, I know for a fact that if I was representing a brand that this would be a no no. |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED So I don't get it. Are they making fun of 3.1? Or making a point that it doesn't matter what distance you do, as long as you're out there doing it? I'm cheesy and have IM Louisville, Wisconsin, and 140.6 on my car. I'm just very proud of my accomplishments, but if I saw a 3.1 I would thumbs up the person. BTW - at Louisville they have the underpants run the day before (yes, people run in underwear) and they gave us a 1.6 sticker. |

New Haven, CT | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED kaburns1214 - 2012-03-11 9:53 AM Let me tell you: a 5k scares me way more than a 13.1... Yes the 5k is a shorter race but it freaking hurts like a banshee. The point of doing all distances, to me, is to change it up. Ding the same thing over and over again is boring. That's why I'm a triathlete, not runner.karen26.2 - 2012-03-11 9:35 AM So I don't get it. Are they making fun of 3.1? Expert 1121 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Speaking of 5k's. Really have just started getting back into things. It's been a long winter!! Had my first open 5k since last February, with no base. I mentioned last week I wasn't sure what I would do at the start line. Race, or just run. Well that went out the window as soon as I got to the start line. PR'ed my 5k at 20:38, on a somewhat hilly course. 25th overall out of almost 700, and 1st in 30-34. Happy with that since I haven't been running. I need to test myself again once I build my base up again.Yes Jeff-y. I wanted to puke. That's what you're supposed to feel like, correct? Then I had an amazing Corned Beef Sandwich and Harpoon IPA. Can't beat it!!! Have a great Sunday

Master 2538 Albuquerque | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Back from our cruise but still won't be home until Thursday. Spending a few days in town with my Dad (hoping to golf Mon/Tue but the downpour today means Monday may not happen). Then we are starting the drive home on Wednesday. The cruise was a lot of fun, although the weather was crappy the first few days. Winds quartering across the bow at 35-nearly 50mph and more along with rough seas made it a rolling cruise Sunday night until Wednesday am. They had much of the outside upper decks closed off during most of that time, too, so lots of fun areas weren't available. Ate plenty, but didn't gain much (about 1 pound), so I'm happy. I think sticking to the stairs is key even if you can't workout too often (I only biked one day and ran another). Got to snorkel in Grand Caymen right off shore and that was my one goal, so I'm thrilled. My Dad booked us in the steak house on the night of my birthday as a treat...the food in there was incredible! Everything was great, but in the steak house it was extra special. Lots of fun, I could see us doing another cruise sometime in the future. I hope all of you are doing well...I'll try and scroll back through and read up. |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED AWESOME! 5K's suck ... I had one this morning and I was nervous all week about it since I was supposed to go under 30 minutes for the first time (yeh, supposed to). That distance just sucks, but 10k is not much better. I didn't feel like puking, but since I have not been running outside much, the race at 40 degrees had my lungs on fire so much I had to walk 4 times. They still hurt 12 hours later! I PR'd, but I want a redo cuz I know I can get under 30 min! |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED I guess that explains not seeing a workout for today ... hope you get better fast! Think of it as mental toughness ... it just a little harder to get to the IMTX start line, but maybe all this rest from being sick will be an advantage for you (it did for Crowie last year) |
