Thats ok Beth - we can all help you get obsessed about it

Actually I found a lot of people got into it with the challenge because i assigned teams according to actual teams and provided some rider information etc

What this meant was people who didnt know about the Tour all of a sudden had a team and riders to support/watch based on their team in the challenge... it was really exciting watching people get into the sport through that!

Oh!!! Can I request to be on team SlipStream??? Anybody else read about them in Outside this month???

That's my favorite team, too. I love the argyle!  So if Cat is taking requests....

Artemis - 2008-06-21 8:42 AM Morning Nibbs! I woke up at 6:30 so I could make it to the pre-ride for the tri. I was way too dizzy to actually ride my bike. I went back to bed and just woke up. I'll ride by myself later today.

Dizzy??? Did you wake up with REALLY low blood sugar???

Maybe.  I think it was more likely that I needed to sleep more.  I feel better now.

Jen, that ride is KILLER.  I know you have done that race before....I don't expect a PR on the bike at all...The run looks so complicated that I don't know what to expect there.

Dee, what's up with freezing the TdF thread? How am I supposed to pad my post count discuss how awesome the challenge will be?

You can do it here.
Or you can do it on the current team threads. (All four of them.)
Or you can wait until Cat posts the official announcement.
Or can opt to do all three of the above.

I'm a giver.

You could just post-pad, I mean opine wisely, in Nibbs.

Post padding, I mean opining wisely, ALWAYS occurs in Nibbs.

kns57 - 2008-06-20 12:08 PM Does anyone have good plans for the weekend? Any races? Kristen I guess is off to the beach, yeah for her.

Beth has Hyvee, and so far so good on it staying a tri.

I'd love the be off to the beach, but I'm heading up to Memphis for a wedding.

Will it be a wedding like the one that Pam went to last weekend?

That was a fun one to hear about.

Just got a call from one of my instructors for my class next weekend. The one where I get to learn how to ride a motorcycle. I AM CRAZY! I'm going to kill myself on that thing.

No you won't.

But you DO need to at least go fast enough that you don't tip over.

Artemis - 2008-06-21 11:59 AM I like having my hair highlighted, but I never keep up with it so it looks funny when I grow it out. It's just not worth it.

Maybe they can put a rinse through or something that enhances yuor natural colour for something different?

Or maybe use highlights closer to your natural shade so that it grows out more 'naturally'?

Or you can just do what Cat does, and dye it purple.

Garmin-Chipotle???  That must have happened fairly recently (or I didn't read close enough)
Surprised that with all the testing they are going through that some medical supplier didn't pick them up (ie Abbott, HenrySchrein, BD, etc

Hmmm.... me thinks maybe we should head to lake so she can get some laugh therapy in?

I've done that before.  It would match the purple stuff on my bike, though, so it might be worth it.

Yeah, the ride hurt last year.  I managed to make it up the whole way, but it was a lot of work.

The run is hard, especially the first part.  Lots of roots and things to trip over.  I ended up rolling my ankle towards the end as I was heading back to the finish line.  My goal this year is to beat last year's time.  I think it will be doable.

The hill is making me think I am not using the tri bike.  Not enough time to practice hills on it before the race.

I am sitting outside with my cats right now.  We put bricks up around the patio at places they would try to get under the fence.  It's funny to see their reaction.  Griffin is really laid back, but he never really tried to get out anyway.  Taji is annoyed and confused.  She's trying to figure out if she can move them herself.

Also, I had a smoothie with soymilk in it and I think I'm having an allergic reaction to it.  I'm kind of allergic to soy, but usually don't react.  My ears and throat are itchy.

Waiting for the Benadryl to kick in.  Might not get in a ride today if this gets any worse...

My husband was doing a lot of housework when I got back from the ride today.  With his help we cleaned the downstairs pretty well.  I vacuumed under the dishwasher and found the toy Mocha came home with almost  2 years ago.  He has been playing with it all afternoon, I think he's glad to see it.

Have to take C shopping tonight for a pair of shoes for the "wedding" and a new bathing suit...
