I just registered for the Lehigh Valley 1/2 marathon...it is my PR for a 1/2 marathon at 1:58(2008)....I hope I can beat it...beautiful course!....register soon...it sells out!

Get on the school system's website and download a copy of the Parents' Rights and Responsibilities.  Then invite yourself to the meeting.  There should be nothing discussed for which you can't be present. 

Edited 'cause when I reread that, it sounded awfully abrupt... it just bothers me that they told you not to come to a meeting in which a group of teachers will be discussing your child's progress, strengths and challenges.  Any meeting they have will require that notes be taken and those notes will be placed in his file, so "informal" is a relative term.

FWIW, if I were the administrator of the school I'd be thrilled to have such an involved and concerned parent who could potentially provide my team of teachers with valuable insight about Cole's history and what sort of things he responds well to at home, what successes and challenges he has outside of school hours, etc.

That is kind of what I thought too.  Glad to hear someone else say it!  I have spent a lot of time on the school district website looking for anything useful and have found nothing.  I almost hate to send yet another e-mail to the teach requesting the time/date of the meeting.  I am starting to feel like I am stalking/annoying her!  I have sent three e-mails already today.  Granted two were replies but still!  That being said, I'll do whatever I have to do in order to get my kid the services he needs. 

Got the audiology appointment for next week.  Soonest we could get in.   Really wanted this week but oh well.  I'll just have to wait!

Bummer that it sells out!  I'll have to check with my aunt and uncle to see if they will be in town that weekend.  If so, I can stay with them and run the race.  I looked it up and it looks like a good one!  I've been looking for another half marathon and I like the date of this one.
