Expert 925 Timmins, ON. Canada | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Closed hey folks, I am not Dead you'll be happy to know. But I feel that way, I have had two solid weeks of feeling down in the dumps and my lack of any real training is only magnifying my feeling of utter tiredness. I don't know what it is but I have had a huge reduction in my appetite and have even had some feelings of nausea when I am eating. This has led to fatigue and poor sleeps, on top of that we have switched to longer shifts at work, and I feel like it is all just coming together to kick the $hit out of me. I know that getting in some exercise will be good for me, I just have no motivation at all. Sorry for my absence lately guys, I am really trying to get back on track here. anyone else had similar sypmtoms/crappy times.....any advice out there beer drinkers? |

These things can generally be cyclical. Talking about problems is a good thing, and a good first step. Sometimes you just have to power through, fake it till you make it. Take the first step. You'll get through and be better for it on the other side.hey folks, I am not Dead you'll be happy to know. A year is a long time and there are ups and downs. Lots of ups and downs... Sounds like you are fighting a bug or something similar and I hope you get to feeling better soon! |

Great news. hoping the temps rise a bit so I can get out on an early morning ride this week. Goal for next week: 32+mpw run, at least 1 bike, and a 16 mile long run. Congrats on a good week. Slow and steady is the Qua way. It's how I drink my beers... Take care and have a fantastic week! |

I tried an IPA but was just to "hoppy" for me. I enjoy wheat beers I guess. I'm headed to Total Wine this week and they have 1 isle about 150 feet long with only singles in there. This place is in an old hardware superstore, it's huge. Sounds like total wine is a door way to heaven. Here are some beers for your to try http://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/TopBeersByStyle.asp?StyleID=19 They are right in your wheel house! |

Expert 4269 | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Closed Hi All: Hope you are having a great day! I've watched Nascar (kenseth got hosed!) and drunk a ton of beers. The highlight was Victory Swing Saison. Tasty and good but not great. I also have tried Red Hook IPA, Pilzner, ESB, and Copper Hook. The best of the lot was the IPA but the ESP was good too. Had a good and hard bike ride on the trainer today. My rear wheel popped... major bummer. Hopefully, I will be able to get off my trainer and get outside. I'm eating like crap... not terribly concerned about it as long as I get my workouts in... Just upset because I wish I could be focused like last year... Good luck everyone! Have a great week! |

Changing work times, especially when it's longer shifts, can really screw a person up, sleep, energy level, etc. |

Expert 1662 Spokane, WA | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Closed Qua17 - 2013-03-17 4:07 PM Red Hook is in my neighborhood. I like their IPA, and ESB as well. They are usually at a cheaper rate than some of the other micro brews, and their pretty decent for the price. Nice to hear they're making their way out to your neck of the woods.Hi All: Hope you are having a great day! I've watched Nascar (kenseth got hosed!) and drunk a ton of beers. Justin good to hear that you are still out there! I think what you are going through is normal, everyone has gotten to the point at sometime or another where they are tired, don't feel like exercising, lose motivation etc. Especially when we are stressed out with work and get sick and stuff happens. You will get through it and get back on track. Just keep your end goals in mind and you will reach them! Good luck! |

Life is all about the ups and downs. It will be a little weird in life if we did not have challenges, setbacks or pauses in life. You have made some amazing changes in your life. I think sometimes things like this are good for your body to just take a bit of a rest. You have been pushing hard. Now you get a chance to reflect and say "which direction do I want to go". It has taken me about two years to really change the way I look at what I eat and how I exercise. Fear of a heart attack was my motivator. I knew I could not go back to 285lbs. Keep moving forwards! You can do it. |

Veteran 340 Dallas | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Closed 50 miler in on the trainer yesterday. I set it up outside at the farm. It was actually pretty cool with all the birds flying around. Practiced some slow endurance pacing and nutrition. I think I have to bail on my HM this weekend due to just getting back to running last week after two weeks off. I have increased my walking time. Any other suggestions? |

As if just going to the farm wasn't good enough now you get to ride while outside in a peaceful setting while enjoying nature in it's true form. You are a lucky man, enjoy every minute of it. As for the HM, once again I wish I could help but I don't know enough about training and the effects of that kind of distance on the body to chime in. |

Feels good since when I was lucky enough to get into the BDAS I weighed in at 235 on the dot. Still a long ways to go but I can see the progress and the food choices are really paying off. Got a long day of workouts today and gonna hit it hard. Have a great day everyone! |

Expert 925 Timmins, ON. Canada | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Closed Thank you all for the kind words, it helps... a lot actually. I have been feeling better, trying to concentrate on sleeping at least 7hrs a night and staying off the crappy food, along with the dairy, eggs, and gluten.
This week, the goal will be to take that step out of the door again, and make it happen, or at least fake it til I make it, like Kevin said. We are having one last cold snap here (at least I hope its one last one) but I feel the warm weather just around the corner, with the longer days and more sunshine.
Thanks again guys, the support really means all the world to me.
