The 4th of July weekend messed me up and I had to play catch-up with my life the last two days! Nothing much going on here. I am having some OWS anxieties. I have been swimming in open water for the past 4 weeks, but yesterday was messed up. My head was winning against my body. I'm going back into the pool for a day or two to regroup. I need to concentrate on my form, not what other stuff is swimming in the water with me. |

Congrats on sticking with it to over come your fear - thats really tough... yup get back to the pool and confident about your swimming abilities and then head back out there KNOWING you have the skills to do it... Also when in the open water swim parallel to the shore.. so you know you are not getting any further out... that could be reassuring... And finally... even just hanging around - floating and stuff - in the open water just to get used to being in it is also just as good for starters to take some of the fear away.... |
