Awesome
Awesome
Awesome

Got back on my good soccer team from a couple years ago. It's gonna be a good fall season.

ANYTHING has to be better than playing with a bunch of beginners in a competitive league.

Hahaha, another friend just called me to play kickball with them next weekend. "There are a LOT of single women there." Plus, there's beer. Awesome.

I love my friends.

jdwright56 - 2008-07-21 7:58 AM Morning TAN.

Morning JD! Are you back in Iowa yet?

I am - I was actually back on Thursday - but left again to go camping this weekend - to the Galesburg area. Yeah - rainstorm on Saturday night andd the tent collapsed. Have I ever told you alll how much I hate tent camping.

On the way home my wife's car starts making this knocking noise - sounds like something in the manifold. It was around the Iowa City area. I had the tow truck guy take it to Des Moines. $500+ tow bill. When I got home there was a piece of mail from the car company telling us about a recall for a clip in the manifold that would make a knocking noise and rob power from the engine. I notified the dealer this morning that they would be paying the tow bill under the warranty and recall. He tried to argue. It ended quickly.

See what I'm saying about the TAN car week.  I'm glad to hear that you were able to resolve the problem so expediently.  I actually like tent camping, but I've never done it in a place that receives a lot of rain.   I starting rethinking the whole 2009 RAGBRAI plan about 3:30 this morning when the hail was hitting the doors and windows.

It's good to have you back, for good.

I hate insurance companies.

Originally for my motorcycle insurance I had to pay $150 for the first month, plus $150 as a 'buffer' in case I miss a payment, I'll still be covered. So I did. The 2nd month came and I got another bill for $150. That's fine, but then they'd owe me a huge credit the following month cuz of it going down due to me turning 25. So I called my agent and explained to him that I was just gonna wait, let them use my 'buffer' payment for month 2, then pay the $26 for month 3. He said that'd be fine. Well the DAY BEFORE my birthday they sent me ANOTHER bill for $150 and said that any changes to my account would be shown the FOLLOWING month. Ba$tards.

So I just sent the $26, and they cashed the check. So that woulda been $150 for month 1, $150 for month 2, and $26 for month 3... which is what it was supposed to be.

Saturday I got a cancellation notice saying I owed $318 by August 2.

Ugh. It's all because they're slow with their paperwork.

That's really annoying.

That's why you walk the payment in and make them give you a receipt.  Then it's their fault if the paperwork is late, and your agent has to answer to you face to face about why he screwed up.  That's my theory anyway.  If someone is going to screw me like my agent does, I at least want to make them look me in the eyes and do it.

OMG so fun! I'm happy for you that you gedda play with the good uns again. =) S'way funner. =)

Sheesh....

Sometimes I wonder what a conversation would be like with her in real life.  I think I'd end up having to imagine the sentence and figure out where the punctuation would be, what would be contractions, etc...

Well, it's the billing department at headquarters that's being stupid. My agent just called me back and said I only owe $22.20. That's a little better than $318....

You have a point, though. If this keeps happening I'mna go down there and show them the Rynamite wrath.

At least when I go in, I get some entertainment.  Otherwise they just make me mad.

In other news: Do you have a plan for that 13,000th post?

I'm thinking about just not posting anymore.

And deny us your rapier wit and dizzying intellect?

In about the same way people "miss" having herpes.

How'd every1's weekend go?

Nice on the improvement.  I expect an RR with pictures by the end of the day.  Something ate part of my car, other than that the weekend's been pretty mellow.

What, they don't miss them because they know that they've never really gone away and it's just a matter of time before they come back?

I didn't take pics, but some of the Donkey team (a team made up of a number of BT members, mostly out of the Milwaukee, WI area) did, and prolly posted in their blogs.  The official race results haven't been posted.  It appears there was a problem and will be delayed.  I'll get the RR up when they finally post.

Ate your car, eh?  Doesn't sound good.

Yeah, it's not so good, since the wires and stuff that were well consumed are crucial to the basic operation of the car.

I have Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love" stuck in my head and I can't get it out. Bah!
