When Mary and I did the Oktoberfest Tri there was a nice group of vendors there after the race. One of them was called "Leg Lube". I briefly glanced at their product and saw that it had to do with shaving, but they were primarily marketing men and I didn't want to get too personal discussing shaving with them so I passed. Well later that day I went to one of my favorite Denver tri stores and they had the Leg Lube, which purported to help with avoiding irritation and ingrown hairs while shaving. I was curious about it's use in more, um, tender areas so I bought some. I've since tried it on areas that get, um, irritated after shaving and met great success with no irritation. So, just an FYI.

so, this is a good product for underarms.  Good to know

I'll have to check it out.  Thanks for the tip.  I was in such a funk after the race I didn't really check out the vendors.  I just got a free sample of some protein drink and my free burrito, then talked with you and left.

Hey, exciting about your plans to BQ!!  Stretch goals are good.  I'm sure you can do it.

I didn't get a burrito . I'm not in to standing in long lines for food. I'd rather have a short line and pay. As for the BQ it's still a maybe, along with all of my other 2015 plans.

Got an interesting group email from Coach though. He sent a short survey out on Sunday and I responded yesterday. I was very positive in my comments. He asked what the least helpful part of the training was. I mentioned the fact that training as a group leaves little room for individual assistance and that it wasn't a critisism, just the nature of group training. Well his email mentioned some things that the winter group will include. They were strength training, the cycling studio, maybe yoga and massage. He also said that along with the group sessions he plans to offer individual in depth skill training. I'm guessing that'll be extra $$ but he's listening.

He also said that our TP account ends today so I need to let him know if I want to continue the account for $10/ month.

Oh no!! Sounds like a terrible week so far.  Glad the pup is (or is going to be) okay.  That's at least a little light in the darkness.  What the heck happened?

Manatees have got to stop with this tooth business!!

I was assaulted by some random dude. He's in jail charged with a felony.

Glad he's locked up!!!!!!!!!

2 bits of positive I think I saw on this. 1) Were you wearing a Road ID? 2) Did I see someone is diving into grad school?

That was what were were celebrating until I got socked. Luckily it was at the end of the night so we were able to enjoy ourselves for most of the night.

Maybe because it's premium? I wonder if I can switch it to regular and retain my data?

That's what I thought as well. Get in touch with TP and they should be able to retain your stuff. The only reason I use them is because it comes with the Timex and I want to have the data available to a coach if I ever go that route. OK, so that's 2 reasons.

OMG!!  That's terrible!!  I mean, it's awful no matter how you got banged up, but to have it happen that way makes it even worse.  Sending healing thoughts for body and soul.  (((Hugs)))

ETA:  As others said, keep wearing that Road ID and yay for J!!  Is she going to get an MSW or an MA in counseling?

Feels like I'm not understanding something in the group sessions regarding expectations vs what they're actually doing. I could get something at every masters swim session if I asked for it, and there the expectations were well short of that. Also from coaching soccer and basketball I remember being able to give something to every kid on the team each day when needed.

I mainly use it as a conduit to get my sessions in to BT . To look at my HR data I go to Garmin Connect

Best to check with TP to be sure, but I think they save all the files & entries in there. I think you'll still have access to it after dropping the subscription, just with reduced analysis tools as the free level is more basic. I haven't loaded anything into mine in maybe a year(?) and it's all still there, though I never had a paid for account.

Yeah, that was my  hope when I signed on with the group. But because most (ok all) of the other athletes were/are newbs that was where the attention/comments/discussion headed. My DH came to a couple sessions as a SAG driver and said that it seemed more like I was a co-coach. This was all pretty much why I'd decided I wouldn't continue in the group. I just have to decide whether to go back to self coached with help from the cycling studio owner and a swim coach I worked with last winter, or go with Michi, another tri coach on an individual basis.

I think that since the info from TP to BT is pretty basic I'll just do it manually until BT learns to talk to Garmin Connect.

Also from coaching soccer and basketball I remember being able to give something to every kid on the team each day when needed.

Ok, that makes more sense. Seems you're not getting what you were promised. The attention should still be balanced among the participants.

That's what I thought as well. Get in touch with TP and they should be able to retain your stuff. The only reason I use them is because it comes with the Timex and I want to have the data available to a coach if I ever go that route. OK, so that's 2 reasons.

I think that since the info from TP to BT is pretty basic I'll just do it manually until BT learns to talk to Garmin Connect.

I believe that might be up and running. Settings: Training Log Settings: Device Uploads.

On a more... ehem... personal note...

Feels like I'm not understanding something in the group sessions regarding expectations vs what they're actually doing. I don't think you should pay Coach more $$$ to get what you should have been getting in the first place.  Even if he doesn't charge more, I'm not sure I'd count on him to be as targeted as you want.  I think I'd go with the cycling studio/swim coach option over the winter and see how that goes.  You didn't have the cycling studio before and they seem like they could give you a lot of help.

Really?!  *ears perk up* This might give me reason to upload my workouts to Garmin again instead of just Strava, then manually entering them here.  My Garmin Connect transfer via ANT goes sooooo slllooooooooowwwww from my 910, so I rarely do it anymore.

I was having such problems getting my 310 to talk with GC that I uninstalled/reinstalled Garmin Express, then hard-reset my device.  It was pretty irritating to lose 3 weeks of data and have to reconfigure it but at least now it works again.  I have Strava connected to GC so I don't have to enter it twice.  Would be great to have all 3 talking!  I'll have to get that set up.

Interesting. I upload to Garmin Connect then it auto synchs with Strava, and now hopefully with BT. Guess I'll know tomorrow.

I should know later today. Treadmill run yesterday, so no Garmin data. Another member had it work fine for him earlier. And just so everyone has the names straight, it's the Garmin Express Program to install as that's the newer super fast one. Even the larger bike files can load before I even open up the site here!

Hmmmm. That could be a problem. My home computer doesn't play nice with Garmin Express.

Express was what I was having problems with.  It worked fine until the end of August, then just went kablooey.  The only solution I found online was the uninstall/reinstall/hard reset.  That worked and now everything's playing nice again.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
