KOM - 2010-03-31 1:19 PM This morning the pump was still running but making no headway in the 5 inches of water in the basement.  At least it wasn't any higher!  Then while we were reading the paper we heard a snap crackle pop and smelled the distinctive odor to an electrical short/fire coming from the basement.  Oh My!  Evacuated the house and the fire department came.  Had to shut off all the power.  We got the electrician here by 11 and he confirmed that the electric baseboard heaters in the basement had shorted out.  We were able to get just that circuit shut off and put the electricity back on to the rest of the house.  One of our friends has their basement all pumped out so now we have their pump going too.

Oh my heck!  How scary.  Glad the electrician was able to come pretty quickly.  Hopefully that second pump will get the water out super fast.  Come on sunshine!

I am going to go to the Y now to get my last swim in.  The basement locker rooms are flooded but I can use the upstairs handicapped locker room.  I can't really do much until the water level is down in the basement anyhow.

I am hoping for lots of sunshine.  I will need to spread my downstairs rugs out on the driveway to dry out!

The electrician showed up in regular work boots.  My husband had to loan him his rain boots in order to go downstairs.  He was going to get some high rain boots when he left here. The whole state is a soggy mess!!!  The fire chief said he had pumped out his own basement twice and it just filled back up again.  They had a list of 500 homes that were flooded and requesting assistance.  Problem is the ground is so wet it just seeps back in....

Hello team bEASTies... I'M DONE!  I came up a little short in my swim due to some foot cramping, but over 100% in bike and run.  I looked back at my training over the past year and a half and this month was my second heaviest tri-training month ever.... second to the month prior to my HIM last year.  I'M OFFICIALLY ADDICTED TO CHALLENGES!

Here's my final stats...
Bike: 122.7/120 Mi (102.3%)
Run: 61.85/60 Mi (103.1%)
Swim: 9,475/10,000 Yd (94.8%)
TOTAL: 100.1%

We've had a tough month with injuries, sick kids, busy jobs, floods, dogs & cats living together... MASS HYSTERIA!  But everyone got in their workouts whenever they could.  Well done everyone!!!

GoOoOoOoOoOoO bEASTies!!!!!!! Cool

Great job Bill!!!!  It has been fun getting to know you this month even though we were enemies!

Ditto, William.  It's been a fun month.  Now cancel the rest of the day's workouts, take a nap and tell all your little "TWISTER minions" to do the same!

Got a super quick swim in at lunch justto get to 105% for that goal.  If I had been able to do simple math the other night at the pool and realized how few I had to do, I would have just done it then!!  Yell

Plan to get another bike in tonight to get up to 105% there as well.

Well bEASTies, I did not get 100%. I did what I could but it should have been more. This cold thing has just kicked my butt. I am behind in my 1/2M training as well. Hopefully I can do my 10 K this weekend and get back in the swing of things.

Go BEASTies. Hope to see you all next month.

Okay bEASTies I got that last swim in.  I only made it to 100% on both goals because they were as sessions not distance.  Was hoping for 105% but spring just did not cooperate!!
