We have an 8 mile race today and part of it runs along the water. I doubt we'll see any dolphins or whales though. Maybe some floating ice . That is, of course, if it is not snowing too hard and we can see the water.

The good news is that Dexter is also doing this, so 2 of us times 8 = another 16 miles for team Please Find Frozen Team mates!

Good luck wit the race. I am guessing that is 8 mile XC or possibly trail run. (Should go look) Sounds like a great distance to race.

Actually it was a road race. The running group in Rochester puts on 6 of these that they call the "Freezeroo Series" They have a couple of 5K's, 10K's, a 7 miler and an 8 miler. Distance aren't exact, but they do a good job of getting people outside during the winter. The one 10K was a hill fest to say the least. Still have one more 10K in 2 weeks. We have been fairly lucky with the weather, including today. Overcast and about 30 degrees, not too bad considering I did a 5K in December that was snowing and 13 when we started! But this ones in the books to put me at 26.33/80!!!

Train well!!!

Great job on the race! Looks like you had a good time as well... Always great to get out there and earn a new t-shirt. LOL

I'm at zero but have run 19 miles which are all in my blog. What log do we update? Doesn't the number come off our training blog? I guess I'm missing what I'm doing wrong?

5 miles this afternoon, should be well back on track to meet my goal soon.

Anyone else ready for the weather to warm up a bit??  Not too much, but 20 or 30 extra degrees wouldn't hurt =

Rest and Recovery Day for this kid

Am moderately dehydrated and needed to take the day and focus on recovery. Probably the result of a bit of Over-Reaching. My volume is still pretty low, but the intensity is just a bit too high I think. (Need to stay focused on proper pace discipline)

Today was a rest/XT/Optional Run day in my plan anyway so it is all good.

Oh, and No more naked beach running for a while

Yes!  That would bring us above freezing here in MN...that would be a heatwave...

I'm so skewed in my temperatures, I'm thinking hey we warmed up above freezing, MN must be really cold.  Then I realized oh ya 0 is not freezing, but because we warmed up to 5F and it is snowing out, I was thinking we are have a heatwave here!

I did run at 5F, in the snow this morning and it was beautiful.

Um, Sal... What is your avatar???

Bags of.... flour? rice?.....

And, of course, the next question is why is this your avatar? (There's gotta be a story here, I'm thinking!)

Great job getting out there running today.

Favorite Post-Run stretch for me is Kapotasana. (Pigeon Pose) It opens up the hips and does a great job of stretching the muscles surrounding the ITB at the same time.

Balasana(Child Pose)/Ustrasana(Camel Pose) is also a great combination because it tends to relieve any tension in the core. (Lower Back and/or Tummy Area) Also seems to make things feel better if I got a side stich during my run.

Well, I've been saying "by midnight Saturday your local time." That way, people can get a last minute workout in on Saturday evening, if they're feeling motivated.

I pull the numbers on Sunday morning (my local time).
