I see we're THIN again. Now why Dee, do you always assume that when I do a drive-by post on the Nibbs, that it involves cheesecake...I think the term used was quality time... |

Schweeeet. Hey Lynne... I know you were looking at the Javelin's too... what did you decide? I decided to hold off for now. Don't have the money anyway. I really had my sights on a new Specialized Dolce.
Oooohhhh!!! I saw some of those at the bike swap!!! Very femme!!!! |

Elite 4148 Utah | Subject: RE: Nibbs XVII barqhead - 2008-03-10 6:57 PM geauxtri - 2008-03-10 8:26 PM Try just riding the hoods at first. Just get to know this bike. Once you have a couple of rides on the hoods, find a nice, flat straight road with very little traffic and go one arm at a time into the aerobars. The bike will be very touchy and sensitive to any movement when you are aero. This is normal. You will get used to it. The first time I went aero on my tri bike, I was all over the road and even crossed the center line a couple of times. I was surprised because I had clip-ons on my road bike and raced in those. The tri bike was a lot more narrow and aggressive. Keep pedaling. Pedaling keeps you steadier. Pretty soon, you will be a pro! kaqphin - 2008-03-10 5:12 PM geauxtri - 2008-03-11 10:44 AM kaqphin - 2008-03-10 3:49 PM Ok just saw the pic - thats a nice looking bike!!!! Thanks... I'm excited and a little "sceared".... I've never ridden aero's before... Ummm I dont have any but they do make steering a little hrder but are great for a straight line... you come out of aero for climbing and cornering... Some corners can be taken in aero but you gradually work up to it with practice. Places like an empty carpark are great to practice cornering and turning in a safe environment! I suppose next week I'll get to start a crash count. Let's hope it stays low Thanks for the tips Pam!!! There is a bike trail that's pretty flat and fairly straight (aka boring)... I may take it out there.... I'm also thinkin' that I'm going to try and ride to work on one of my days off to see how long it takes me and if it's doable. The road I'm planning on commuting on is fairly low on traffic. One arm at a time, eh? |

My left leg feels normal today, although I am still not running on it. Hubby warned me that the ibuprofen cream can mask the pain for as long as 2 days (yay!!!) I did buy two new pairs of running shoes. They are Saucony's, a switch from my beloved Mizunos. But they felt cushier and more flexible and I'm all about that. Dee, hope you get to escape for brief periods of time today Kristen, welcome back and happy birthday to your Monkey! Heather, have fun skiing Amy,have fun riding Sal,enjoy your quality time Lynne, glad you got some rest Jen, glad things are working out at the lab Mila, pop in when you're not so busy Beth, have a good dinner OK.
