Subject: RE: Stopping smoking Feb 28thActually stood outside with a buddy of mine while he smoked yesterday. I enjoyed the smell, but didn't even want a puff. Today begins my third week, and my last week of eating whatever I want. I had popeyes and taco bell on the same day last week (the day of my annual physical), and it was delicious. I think I'm going to splurge on a chili cheese dog this week.
I've definitely noticed huge differences in my training. My legs have become the limiting factor in my runs, not my lungs. I am forcing myself to limit my miles so I don't build back up too fast. In the pool, I used to get tired before I got bored, and now I get bored before I get tired, which I suppose is a good thing. With this being a big swim week, I need to find ways to occupy my brain. I've also noticed a huge difference in the amount of money I've been spending. It's much more than the 3-4 packs a week I'm not buying would suggest. Fewer trips to the convenience store must means fewer sodas, coffees, and packs of gum. I also I find I can hold on to a twenty longer than the change of a twenty from a pack of cigarettes. With the coming tax increases, cigarettes are going to be over $7 a pack here in Maryland by the end of the week. How much are you folks saving per pack where you are?
