The last time she did it, let's just say that only Marmadaddy had the authorization to delete what she'd done. LOL Hm. Maybe we SHOULD let her write the table. I'll bring popcorn and the rest of us can have a party while we watch the fireworks and explosions. anyone know how to do html? i can do it, but i've been known to blow up entire threads - and it might be util the end of the challenge before i figure it out ummm waidaminute - she just insulted me LOL! Sorry, Tinky, but, *it PAINS me type this* I have to agree with Deeder on this. There, Deeder, mark it in the history books. 1TT sided with Deeder, the EEEEE VIL Pink Poodle. *ducks, runs, and hides* you better run and hide, i just stole Dee's taser Wait.... Phil just agreed with me about something???? |

This year I ran 1186 miles in 33 hours less time than in 2008. Long runs of 15 to 20 miles were in the 10:41 to 11:18 range in 2008 and in the 8:32 to 9:40 range for 2009 (2nd 20 this weekend). Who wants to go archival and dig up some old run times 8) ? Wow! That improvement is really impressive. |

Added an hour of strenght training just for pain and suffering. Whoever invented core workouts must have a brother who invented kick drills, a cousine who invented isolated leg drills on the bike and an ancestor in the inquasition. Tomorrow's mile repeats may have to be on the dreadmill as the roads are still glare ice today, no fun. So what's your least favorite workout...? |

I would say my least favorite workout is definitely swimming. I read somewhere (on this board, I'm sure) that a triathlete is really a duathlete that tolerates the third sport. That would definitely be swimming for me. Back and forth, back and forth. Yawn. Edited by cthoops 2009-12-08 5:50 AM |

Member 82 | Subject: RE: Frostbite Force - Du-December Challenge after my swim this morning, another woman in the locker room asked how it went. "Man, i'm so tired. Just the 800 wu wore me out." "Good." Not 3 minutes later, I discover that she swam 8000 as her 2nd swim workout Saturday morning and she held the record for swimming across the English Channel only a few years ago. How awesome is that! It almost made me want to hop back in the pool and keep going. Almost. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Frostbite Force - Du-December Challenge Grats on the 5k distance! That is a huge milestone. I don't find swimming booring, just hard. 8000 yards for a second swim of the day...oh my! So... the forcast for today is a high of -1F to -11F windchill with icy roads still. I am still debating whether to run at lunch or do the treadmill tonight. I guess I can wait until noon and see how the temp is, but I really don't want to slip on the ice while trying to do speedwork. We must have someone with colder temps than I have here in sunny California. Who has the coldest temps today and are you going to workout indoors or rough the elements? |

It was less than ideal even after two days of recovery from the race. Legs are still tired and sore, especially the hamstrings. |

Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: Frostbite Force - Du-December Challenge brick94513 - 2009-12-05 2:40 PM Well, race report time. I got home a little while ago and went straight for the ice bath. Feel better, but, for some reason, this race really tore me up. Hamstrings are sore from the descents! Anyways, here's the splits and results: PCT Woodside 17k Trail Run 4/125 Overall 2/ ??? Age Group Ascent = 4,285 Mile 01: 6:27; HR 168; 212ft (467ft) Mile 02: 7:57; HR 178; 555ft (311ft) Mile 03: 8:12; HR 177; 497ft (245ft) Mile 04: 9:24; HR 176; 682ft (308ft) Mile 05: 9:25; HR 171; 584ft (397ft) Mile 06: 8:36; HR 170; 963ft (655ft) Mile 07: 6:51; HR 170; 274ft (437ft) Mile 08: 6:20; HR 170; 045ft (558ft) Mile 09: 7:13; HR 162; 089ft (440ft) Mile 10: 7:48; HR 168; 377ft (465ft) Mile.22: 0:57; HR 164; 006ft (032ft) I went out a little fast to beat the congestion at the trailhead despite knowing the pending 5 mile climb was just around the corner. While I got ahead of the pack and held my position, the negative time splits for the next four miles were the cost of that strategy. My descending has improved, but still has a lot to be desired. All in all, a good day without getting lost. LOL... glad one of us could say that! Sorry I missed you Tim! Great job out there! Really awesome time on a tough trail course!!! |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Frostbite Force - Du-December Challenge Roni I am so sorry about that race. PCT is really really bad about marking trails. Ribbons may be on the ground burried, on the backside of a bush you can't see from the correct direction, etc. The one I did last month was the only race I had ever done where most of the people got lost at some point on the course. It turns out to be more of a forestry competition where folks use a compass and a map and try to navigate the course that is insufficiently marked with just a few landmarks. If I ever do another race with them I will at minimum carry a map with me, but probabaly avoiding them all together is best. |

I've been sidelined the past couple of days with a heavy duty migraine that won't let up. I've been pretty good about avoiding my triggers, but I got whammied by a barometric pressure one that I can't prevent. I may need to adjust goals, depending on how long this puppy lasts. Unfortunately, I anticipate another pressure drop tonight since our temps are going to plummet. Trying to stay positive and be a cheerleader for y'all until I can get back to hitting it. Go Force!
