Cindy,
I'm using my sisters computer. The PB Smotthie recipe is 1 cup milk, 5 ice cubes, 2Tbs PB (crunchy or smooth). Blend in a blender. Add one frozen banana. (make sure to peel the banana before freezing.) Blend. Enjoy!

Kim, that sounds yummy. I've got a basket full of really ripe bananas right now and loathed the thought of making banana bread....so peel and freeze they'll go. Do you add protein powder too???

Hey Ron, is this thread setting a record for longest running on the site!!!

Just opened at new jar.....mmmm.....

I don't put protien powder in it. My nutriionist told me to have a 500 cal breakfast and this is 400. So this is my morning breakfast. I just got back from vaction and all I had to eat pretty much was PB and banana sandwiches. I gained lds while I was gone. OOPs!

When I was a kid, my mom fed us every kind of sandwich imaginable but never peanut butter (and jelly). I discovered later that I was really missing out. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich has the best ratio of carbs to protein needed for that after workout snack. It doesn't need refrigeration and can be stashed anywhere. It's a whole lot less expensive than a power bar. My athlete adult kids and I scarf them down all the time! enjoy!! Besides, if you're working out, the calories won't show, right??!!

Is that really true about the protein to carbs ratio in pb&j or pb and banana? B/c if so, you have made my entire week!

BTW, I tried cutting the recipe in half and adding half a scoop of vanilla protein powder, believe it or not it was pretty good! The powder thickens and smooths it some, and the vanilla taste was a nice compliment (with a charming bouquet and velvet feel on the tongue too haha). I used natural pb, I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Cutting the recipe in half that's about 265 cals, I haven't done the protein and carb breakdown. Not really enough for breakfast but a nice snack....high on the protein, but if you're like me you have to concentrate on getting it in.

I used to make peanut butter and banana burritos using the whole wheat wraps. Yum-yummy-yum! I don't know why I stopped. Maybe I just got onto a different PB kick.

The whole wheat wraps are super high in fiber, so combined with the banana and the PB, it made a great breakfast. Mmmmmmm.... I just opened a new jar of Maranatha Smooth (that's all they have at Costco). I need some bananas!

I tried one of those on my way home from my Tri last weekend. It was good, but needed more pb...and it was munched up too much, it needed to be chunkier. Next time, I will tell them to blend it about half as much. Verrryy Goooood though!!!

In some ways I felt above this thread....

"I don't have a peanut butter addiction," I'd say to myself.

"These people are crazy!" I'd self-righteously proclaim.

My son was at summer camp last week.....a free week for a single mom to wine and dine with her girlfriends, eat big girl food, not have to worry about cutting everything into 7-year-old type bites.....

What did I finish off?

2 jars of peanut butter (chunky and creamy) and a loaf of bread.....

the steaks stayed in the freezer,
the romaine grew brown spots in the fridge
the italian tomatoes stayed on the vine.

Thank God I have a tri in two weeks and my training levels went up. I have some PB to work off this week...

It's not a problem, my love, it is a lifestyle.  The sooner you come to grips with it, the better off you will be.  I have walked down this dark road.  Don't do what I have done:  the empty peanut butter jars under the bed, cracker crumbs in the sheets, peanut butter cup foil in my suit pockets, massive amounts of colonge to hide the musky pb aroma, shades drawn tight with a spoon and twitch, shaking with taboo delight...  The irrisistable urge to by two jars instead of one... it goes on an on,  a perpetual diet of denial and binge.  LET IT GO!!!!  The harder you hide it, the more they will talk.

Come into the light, Nancy!  Proclaim your love of all things peanutbutter and throw off this yoke of oppression you wear about your neck.  Set down that heavy bag of bricks and feel your peanut butter soul lift you to a higher plain....
