Subject: RE: Ghoulies Christmas Core Challenge
ceilidh - 2010-12-03 2:09 PM Got anything planned this weekend, Ann?

Yes. Yes I do.

We are pretty fortunate to have a large family, and everyone takes care of my kids at one time or another, or helps us out in other ways. My husband and I pick 1 Saturday afternoon/evening in December and volunteer to watch all of the kids, plus a few friends kids. It's a chance to give the parents a break. They can finish their Christmas shopping, wrap presents, go on a date, whatever. We'll have a housefull of kids starting sometime tomorrow afternoon until usually around 9:00 or so. We make lots of pizzas and chicken nuggets for dinner. We usually do a craft. The kids like to do the pine cone birdfeeders. We've done those 3 years. I clean up birdseed for weeks afterwards. We've made sugar cookies. I'm not sure what we'll do tomorrow. The kids have fun, they run around like maniacs. The parents appreciate a Saturday night that's kid free, and I sleep well that night from exhaustion.

What do you have going on?

Oh, I also want to take Milo to the petstore and weigh him. One of his brothers weighs 95lbs. They'll be 6 months old next week. I don't think he's that heavy, I'm guessing 80's.

Wow, fun day tomorrow. You are indeed lucky to have such a good group of kin.

I have do some more decorating today and tomorrow. Go out with friends this evening. Tomorrow, more (hopefully the last) of the decorating. Go with a friend to a regional annual pottery show (200 potters showing their wares), then a party at our friends house. Sunday, I don't know yet. There is a chance of snow so maybe a snowy hike.

I went to a pet store today and there was a great dane. One of the biggest I have ever seen. He lives their. I was shopping and felt a poke in the back turned around and here was the big goof ball staring at me wanting a pet on the head. He then decided to lie down on my feet.

Another lady brought in a Great Pyranese. Huge white shaggy thing that decided to follow me around. Another minute or two and I would have had a new dog for Christmas.

I'll see what I can do. I want to try and get pictures of the kids with the Christmas tree this weekend, too. Last year they took the tree down 2 days after Christmas and I never got pictures. I don't want that to happen this year.

He has outgrown his crate. He's been sleeping wherever he wants this week. I need to get the gigantic size crate, but I'm really not sure where I'll put it. I should just get a baby gate for the office and just gate him in the room.

Does he need a crate still? We have one but use it for camping/ travelling purposes. She got to where she could be trusted. Though that was longer than 6 months! (We used it for her "time out" for a good long time).

I don't think he does, maybe that's why I've been dragging my feet on getting one. My almost 3 year old lab gets into more trouble than he does. I was nervous the first couple nights he slept outside of the crate, but he was fine. If he needed to go out he'd just lick me in the face and wake me up. He did want to play 1 night, but I went back to bed. He didn't wake me the next night.

I'm out of here. I need to stop by my daughters school and pick her up and the items she sold for a fundraiser. When we get home I'll help her pack a bag, she's spending the night at one of her aunts houses. We'll drop my son off at a cousins, my daughter off at her aunts, then the husband and I are going grocery shopping. What fun.

I hope everyone has a FANFREAKINTASTIC weekend!
