QueenZipp - 2010-12-06 11:42 AM I had my first session with the personal trainer today.  Most of it was fine, the worst thing (other than 10 sets of 25 crunches which didn't hurt intil over the 6th set) was the STRETCHING at the end.  My hamstrings did not appreciate that!!!

Damn the ham!

Damn my hams too...

My hams are damning the yoga I have been forcing them to endure recently.

I guess that means it's what our bodies really need even though we hate it

Try the hamstrings routine on iyogalife, it's fantastic!

I hope to make some progress with the hams but after 2 weeks or so I stop doing it... it takes time to conquer them!

Well it's official.  My roomies infected me with whatever disease they had.  Felt absolutely horrible last night.  Started taking cold medicine, it's helping a little but I'm pretty sure my voice is going to be gone soon.  Now I just sound like man which is absolutely lovely as I had to give a presentation this morning.  Hoping whatever this is goes away quick because I have 5 finals to study for and studying/taking exams while sick is no fun.

rh8463 - 2010-12-05 7:29 PM Oh, and I nearly forgot, 1st tri of the season this Sunday. Goal number 4 is to win...
Just kidding, its to get through the swim without getting eaten by sharks and to enjoy the rest of the race overtaking people. Also to try and not let my friend who will be starting a few minutes after me but is a super speedy runner overtake me...

Good luck with the race.

Emmanem - 2010-12-06 12:32 PM Not sure if I mentioned it or not but I have a pet hamster named Gus... not after the mouse in Cinderella but after my Grandpa's middle name (gustav).  I got him 2 days before the anniversary of my grandpa's death so it only seemed fitting he be named after him.  Well now I really want to get another small pet and came across Zeke, a 7 month old hamster who's spent the last month at an animal shelter.  I feel like driving to go get him now but I emailed them about him instead.  He's such a little cutie and I just wanna give him a good home for Christmas.

I think Gus is lonely and needs a little friend.

Its great when roomies share but they're only supposed to share good things and keep the crap to themselves. Hope you get well soon and good luck with the finals.

I'm having a rough tie getting motivated to work out after the crazy weekend driving all over creation. I feel like I need a vacation day to recover from the weekend. I'm thinking about a swim or bike during lunch. Maybe that will help get me motivated again.

I didn't get my workout in last night. We noticed one headlight out Saturday but didn't make it to the store in time to get a new one. Monday morning they were both out so I spent last night replacing headlights, wipers and other basic maintenance instead of working out.

Ugh, no fun!!  But at least you'll be able to see on a wet, rainy night.

I agree with studying while sick sucking! I always hoped for it to stay out of my brain... coughing is fine, fever and headaches are not!

Woke up and felt like I'd been hit by a bus.  I was really weak and shaky and unfortunately had less than an hour until my health final.  Barely made it through my final... thought I was going to pass out in the middle of it, got extremely hot and light headed but managed to get out of the exam without fainting.  Went to the doctor and she thinks I just have a really bad sinus/upper respiratory infection.  She said all the flu cases they'd seen were people with a fever and vomiting which I dont have.  So she gave me antibiotics but told me to come back for a flu test if I got worse.  Hoping my meds kick in tonight since I have an 8am final tomorrow morning and of course I still have one to take today.

Motivation is better today. I forced myself to do some push ups/sit ups last night and it helped. Followed that up with more push ups/sit ups this morning and now I'm excited to go for a bike ride at lunch.
