Regular 81 Marshfield | Subject: RE: Tripletmom01 Group FULL So far weekend workout is not fantastic.....bike 45 minutes Friday and today only 4 mile run due to badly bruised area I won't mention that made it very painful to run and very irritating!!! Did have a great weight lifting session as it is amazing how much harder one can lift with motivation Tomorrow looking to get back on the bike trainer for a 60 minute ride and back to the pool Monday morning!!! Does everyone have a race schedule somewhat planned for 2011...it would be great to hear what everyone is planning!!!! Go Packers...even though they are stinking it up right now that's alright...more BEER!!!! |

Master 1348 Gurnee, IL | Subject: RE: Tripletmom01 Group FULL Friday night did first ever Yoga class! YA! that's right. going to try and make this a regular thing for me. Nice core work out. Stretching and stability/balance will no doubt improve as well. Today: Another swim with my two little ducks. Last week taught my 10 year old to flip turn. Today my 8 year old learned (she could not STAND that her sister learned and she did not) for me it was a fun swim not a whole lot of training. But it was a nice rewarding time with my two girls. Sunday- Spin class and possibly a 30 min swim following that. Its so weird to not be running. Well soon it will happen. Just have to be patient. Good things come for those that can wait. I do miss it so though. |

Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Tripletmom01 Group FULL Having lots of fun this weekend. I tend to do longer doubles on weekends, since my time is very limited during the week. Really enjoy being able to not be on such a tight schedule and take my time warming up, doing a workout, warming down, stretching, talking with friends, "refueling" at cafe' afterwards! Yesterday did a combined long run/speedwork (80 minutes with fartlek pickups--wouldn't recommend this stuff for everyone but it works for me), and swim workout (pool to myself); today long bike and easy 10K run. It's odd-- after the first 5 or 10 minutes, I actually feel better running after the bike than running after work. Legs a bit tired, but the only part of me that's sore is my thumbs and wrists from the bike. Thinking about trying aerobars once I get through the clip-in thing--might be more comfortable. My bike is very comfortable otherwise and no problems with back, shoulders, or even butt! Still trying to work up the nerve to switch the pedals on the bike. I'm afraid once I get the old ones off, I won't be able to get the new ones on! |

New user 11 | Subject: RE: Tripletmom01 Group FULL Thanks for the info on wetsuits....I was thinking of renting one....but for the cost of renting...it seems that I could just go ahead and buy one and be able to train in it some...... I bought a pull behind for my youngest son to ride in on the back of my bike. Gonna try and maximize my biking time by taking him along...... |

U will not be sorry even if you fall over once or twice! Then go aero bars. Again. you cannot go wrong with this unless u do not try. Do not be nervous, just do it. |

Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Tripletmom01 Group FULL I don't mean working up the nerve to ride the bike with clipless pedals, but to install them on the bike! I'm a mechanical idiot and the idea of taking a wrench to my beautiful machine is scary. I'm going to try it (since I will have to do it when I travel with the bike) this week; my friend's husband can hopefully repair the damage if I screw up! |

16 | Subject: RE: Tripletmom01 Group FULL Spin class today - Short swim and Short Bike tomorrow. Spin class wore me out today. Heavy intervals, hovering, and working at and above AT. Saw the tip about clipless pedals. Does this mean you are not attached to the pedals? Similar to a regular bike? I hoping to get shoes next weekend. This is what's on my schedule leading up to the Danskin. I am a little concerned with the 2 events back to back in April. Any thoughts? Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Tripletmom01 Group FULL Gosh--Makes me tired just looking at everyone's race schedule. I must be the most under-raced athelete in the world, as there are basically no local events except for the Vietnam Tri (sponsored by a Singaporean group) and a couple of low-key charity runs and "adventure races". February 12: SAFRA Biathlon (1500 meter swim, 10K run) in Singapore Feb. 27 (remote possibility, not likely as too much like previous): Singapore Sprint Series duathlon May 1 (possibly--still talking with buddies about it) Singapore Sprint Series Sprint Tri May 21: Bintan Tri (Olympic) in Indonesia July 4 (possibly): 10K (Butte to Butte) in my hometown July 24: Tinman Tri, Honolulu (Olympic bike and run, 800m swim) Sept. 11: Vietnam Tri, Hoi An (Olympic) Eary Dec.: Angkor Wat Half Marathon, Cambodia Would like to do the Singapore 1/2 Ironman in March, 2012. Will see how it goes. No plans to go longer unless I become independently wealthy and can train full time in Hawaii. Hmmm...not likely! |

Member 78 | Subject: RE: Tripletmom01 Group FULL I'm only signed up for 2 events right now--Oshkosh Half Marathon in April and Trek tri in July. I'll probably do the South Shore Duathlon. My goal is to do an oly, but I'm not sure which. I'll do a fall half mary, or a full if I'm feeling good. Usually do a bunch of 5ks too. |
