QueenZipp - 2011-04-13 11:22 AM I got to the pool tonight and realized my bathing suit was still home.  OOOOPS!  There is a Target less than a mile from the gym, I drove over there, found the least objectionable suit on the rack and bought it.

As always, your commitment to swimming way surpasses mine. On another note - nice excuse to shop - I have yet to use that one but I will log it for future reference....

I bought a new bikini on Monday but it was completely for bumming on the beach, nothing functional about it

I love dysfunctional swimwear! I mean, nonfunctional ... actually I often go OWS in it anyway, especially if it's a bright color. Sucks when the top comes undone, though. For me. Not my swim buddies, apparently.

Surprised ha ha ha, yep, has happened to me a few times but I don't have as much as you to display, people hardly notice, lol.

Morning All!

I'm sorry I have been awol for a few days. I didn't plan on disappearing without mentioning it first but I have been in Noosa for a few days hol with my Mum. It was fabulous but now I am back at work with more work than ever to do. I have to write a research proposal on malaria and T cells by Friday 9am, both of which are new topics to me (I work in infectious diseases and immunology but not those areas) and I am supposed to do the job I am being paid to do at the same time - busy busy busy!

Welcome back, Razzers, good luck with all that!

(Do you know, and do, everything? I am beginning to think so. heh)

Jack of all trades, master of none and all that...

Hi Yanti - hope you are feeling a bit better and your life is on a bit of a better track than the last couple of weeks!

Hmm, do everything AND you're one of the nicest people ever

I am feeling better. Have a bad case of bronchitis, might be pneumonial, but in any case I'm resting a LOT and things are settling, especially with my dad stable (if in poor condition). I really, really, really wanted to finish translating his autobiography before he's finished with being ... biographical, heh, and it looks like he'll hang in there for a few weeks.

My frigging computer died!  Thank goodness I backed it up just a couple weeks ago so I didn't lose very much.  I'll be using my husband's computer until I, a) get my computer fixed, or b) get a new computer.  I'm so depressed.  It's like losing an old friend. Cry

I got two brand new string bikini tops!!! They actually fit me and stay on!!! (They are called Gemini back.) (The only bikini top that fits.)

So I'm excited!

I am in need of a new car. There's nothing technically wrong with my current one - a Dodge SX - but it's 9 years old and little things are starting to go - and it's small. I'd really like something a bit bigger, something a bit more reliable in the winter, something that can handle rough roads as I do a lot of back-country hiking in the summers, etc etc - something in which I can carry my bike without having to pop the front wheel off then jam the whole thing in the trunk (effectively messing up something every time) ... yet money's tight, and I don't want to buy something just for the sake of buying something - I'd rather save my money and get a quality used vehicle when I can afford it.

Well - in addition to being a police officer, my boyfriend also owns an auto brokerage (he's one of those freaky people that never sleeps) ... and a few days ago he got a line on a used Land Rover Freelander that a friend a friend is wanting to sell - for cheap! The seller is an oil exec and it's his "weekend vehicle" and he thinks it's time to upgrade - and I can afford what he's asking! (He's asking literally half of what he could get for it, silly goose.)

We're still trying to get a few more details, but if all goes well, I'll have a new car very soon! Woot woot!

I gots me a boy ... well, at least for a while. Boy toy leaves in two weeks.

Rach, he is from Albany!

Boy, is he smart though. He was my quiz partner last night.

His first thought on meeting me was, "Wow. She's cute."

His second thought after a bit of chatting, "Good grief, she is a nerd and why doesn't she shut up."

His thoughts after quiz, "This is the cleverest girl I've ever met and she's beautiful and I really really really hope I score."

After the whole night, he was completely speechless and comatose on my floor.

Tongue out

That IS exciting!  Gotta love new cars...  I'm in line behind hubby who needs one more than I do...  I'm hoping the cars last until daycare is done!  Youngest heads to Kindergarten next year...  Cry
