wgraves7582 - 2011-11-14 6:32 AM Looks like some points will be falling my way by the end of the week.  Didn't think I would go pointless the whole challenge but I am sure loving these 50 and 60 degree days!

Our overnight lows are in the 40s, highs in the 60-70s most of this week. I have a 10 mile turkey trot Saturday and the expected high is in the 70s.

Amazing weather.

Started curling last night, they keep it cold because of the ice, just not sure if it is under 35.

Got up at 5:00am on Saturday. Suited up and headed out for a 20 miler with my headlamp and flashers on. Racked up some major points with the 3hr38min run. Below 35 with light wind. Should of done this last year. I think I would of got first or second.lol... Loving it and getting stronger for our 50 k in December. Tick tock.

This made me laugh - thanks Darren

And Lenny - he is Canadian so we have to take his word on it!

Ok, curling might be a little like playing shuffleboard, but my arms were a little sore from sweeping. I think that makes me sound like more of a wimp, now I need to get a 20 mile run in the weekend to redeem myself.

No the sweeping reminds me of watching Tim Tebow get ready with workouts - but trying to get points out of it - I don't think so.

I just hope it is above 35 for your run

of course any activity involving women lying prone on the ice screaming "hurry, hurry, hurry HARD.....HARDER......HHHAAARRDDDDDDDDD!", is okay in my book.

oh you people and your lack of hard luck stories when it comes to the weather makes me side. You may live vicariously through me. -5C 20+ km hour winds, plus gusts, 10k hard into the wind, 10k back. Awesome.

Add me to the hard-luck stories of warmth. It hasn't been exactly balmy over here, but it's too warm to even get riding points. I will continue to live vicariously through you guys...and quite happily at that

OK, we are getting some colder mornings finally and I am starting to see some points adding up. I had to break out running pants for the first time this morning, shorts alone wouldn't cut it. It is suppose to be cold and clear for the next couple days then some rain/snow is suppose to hit, but that is the same thing that was predicted last week so who knows?

Got back out for a ride this morning, winds had picked up and it was snowing lightly so it made for some easy points and a nice ride. Things are starting to look up.

You called it! Had 28 this morning, so I got some points again. I don't think I'm willing to add morning misery to weather misery quite yet

Got some unexpected points tonight. We had a cold front come through today. It never did get much above 35, and we even had some flurries.

I ended up going out for a very late run -- left the house at 10:30 -- and it was 24, with 6 mph winds.

And as a special treat. I saw my first meteor come through the atmosphere on my way home from the track. There was no mistaking it. Absolutely beautiful. I gasped and tears immediately came to my eyes.

The perfect ending to a lovely day.

I finally got some points. The weather here in WV has been pretty gosh darn warm for the time of year. We finally got some days of nice, nasty, cold rain to run in. Haven't got a chance to go out cycling in it,though. I found myself actually disappointed when I went out to get my run in and found that the steady downpour had lightened to just a light rain. Oh, well. It's supposed to get colder starting today.

10 pages in the thread and I am finally scoring real points for once.

Supposed to warm up again but should get some pointage all day today and tomorrow morning on the ride in.

Don't feel bad, I am in the same boat, felt nice to see points start adding up. It's not much but it is getting better. The best part of my ride yesterday was when it started snowing about 1/4 of the way out. When I told people I had been riding in the snow they couldn't understand why I was so excited. I tried to explain, but you know how "those people" are when it comes to anything remotely athletic.

Now we just need the cold weather to hold and not go away.
