Pinched nerve in my neck has prevented me from starting the challenge and does not seem like it's going to let me do much this month, so I regretfully withdraw.  Yall keep up the good work.

So sorry for your injury.  Heal up and recover.  We'll still be here whenever the body agrees to training.

Peto - good luck with the HM and altitude training

HT - hope you heal up soon.

Me - I haven't done anything the last couple of days, too sore from my class on Wednesday but I'm hoping to get a nice run in today - not sure if I'm going long or short though

Thanks for the well wishes, sad to know this happened while I was sleeping.Surprised

Peto, best of luck at the HM, but I know how hard and long you have prepared so I'm sure you will be fine.  Feel free to wear the TuTu if you think it will make the day easier / fasterTongue out

4 miles in 46:31 today. Another 46 for run. Best run in a LONG time (better than last week) and it was only 61* - much better than 80 at 7:00am

8 painfully slow miles in. It felt pretty good, but then it should, as slow as I was going. Better slow than not at all, though.

Good morning everyone!

How did your weekend workouts go?

I'm hoping that I get some time at home tonight on the computer and I'll post the leaders to date. I now I have been really SLACKING when it comes to keeping up with my logs and the spreadsheet. I'm going to get both up to date today!

Managing to run despite blisters that would make most cry.  I will say I am close to tears dealing with them.  Double socks only make shoes feel too tight.  Moleskin helps a little, but not substantially.  I use smart wool socks or other run specific like balega......and still have ginormous blistering all along my big toes.  Looks too nasty for a pic so I'll spare you all the gory mess.

Ohhh, Judi, that sounds really painful. Ugh, I'm sorry. Are you running in new shoes or is this an ongoing problem you have? Have you tried blister bandades or are your blisters too big for them?

You're still killing on the challenge. Good job training through the pain!

I am rotating through 4 different styles of Brooks shoes.  I have had the Dyads longest (last December) but stopped wearing them for a while so they really don't have a lot of miles on them.  The Launch, which I started wearing in March and would pretty much be the only shoe I wear if Brooks weren't going to discontinue them.   Pure Flow and Ghost 5 which I got last month.  I have another pair of the Launch that I ordered with the Pure/ Ghost but haven't taken out of the box yet since I have so many to rotate with.  I was fine until 3 weeks or so ago when I did a brick and wore regular bike socks instead of my usual smart wool run sock.  Since then, between the heat and super sweaty feet and volume on this half mary plan my feet look NASTY.  Moleskin helps a little, I have to cut the stuff into strips that go the length of my big toe for it to stick.  I think the locations (side of big toe starting near the nail bed) make the traditional bandaid for blisters ineffective cause the placement would be so odd.  I think they are worse when I wear the ghost, but I think that might be lessened with double socks and that shoe.  Double socks didn't help the launch much, just made me feel like the shoes were too tight.

Wow, do you have a lot of shoes, Judi! Sounds like you've tried everything you can.

Haha, Darren. Good job on the stroller run!

I need to get caught up on my log and we'll see who's out front.

Injured!

Damn it! Did 12k yesterday. Started to get a bit sore behind the knee early on, figured it was just a bit of soreness from my morning weights workout, but it didn't go away and is very isolated. Still got out 65mins.

Ice and compression last night and today and hopefully it will come good. Only a slight amount of pain so hopefully only a very slight strain.

Never the less, before that I have been progressing nicely with my stretching and running.

Good morning everyone!

I got a short run in last night, my knee started bothering me, so I cut it short. I had to deal with patellar tendonitis earlier this summer, do not want to reaggrevate that!

I think today will just be strength training, we are to get rain all day and this afternoon and this evening strong rain, storms, hail, all that good stuff. I think I'll stay inside then.
