I knew going in I had essentially no shot...and any shot that I had revolved around Cam scoring 5 TD's. Turns out I was right and 4 just won't cut it!
Our trade is backfiring on me now. I got 5 points out of the 3 guys you traded me. You got 80+. |

what was the trade? Newton/Bush/Megatron vs Rapistburger/Lynch/Austin Rapist is injured, Austin left in the 1st scoring 0 and Lynch was held to 5 points. Newton went ballistic last night, Bush scored 19 and Megatron has been unstoppable since my trade. |

I also hope Forte is out for the year. Why would you hope that someone else's player is out for the year? That ~180 points thrown up by Omsk is downright scary! 180 points was crazy! Also a tough loss for OMGWTF who had 140+ points. I know what its like to lose while putting up 143 points :-( And THEN after losing I lose Gronkowski NOW THAT was a kick in the pants. |

Eh you could say the same thing about your team and CJ Spiller, but it's fantasy so that's how it works. He didn't have any 50 point games, but if Fjax was healthy all season, he wouldn't have gotten nearly as many touches and you would have less points than you do and you would probably be down around my record, wondering how you can score 136 points and still probably lose. |

Now you're just making stuff up. First of all, Fjax missed all of two games. Even after he returned healthy, Spiller earned the bulk of the carries. Second, and most importantly to your post, I have exactly 1 win that can be attributable to Spiller, a game in which he scored 19 and I won by 18.36. In every other win (and I now have 10 of them -) my margin of victory is more than his output. The scores are still out there if you'd like to check. So yeah, maybe without Spiller my point total would be down in the mediocre range with you, but my record would still be 9-4. Because I don't have two fluke 50-point games from my homey that padded my point total without earning me wins. Which was my original point in this discussion. |

Week 9 margin of victory is 52, Martin scored 53. So as long as he scores 1.1 points I would have won. Week 8, I won by 70, Martin scored 35. Didn't even need him. If Fjax hadn't gotten injured week 1, we wouldn't have seen Spiller go off like he did. I love Spiller, he's an absolute stud. Obviously thoguh in spite of his incredible skills and Fjax's relative strugles Gailey is still given Fjax the ball more and I think touches would have been even more lopsided if Fjax didn't give Spiller the chance to blow up for 50+ pts in 2 games. Again, it's all Fantasy luck. I lost last week by 9 because Miles Austin got injured on the first drive and scored 0. It still sucks that I might finish 3rd overall in points and miss the playoffs because 136 points isn't enough in a must win game. Let's not forget, you've had a BSU like strength of schedule as well. Edited by JoshR 2012-12-03 7:21 AM |

Week 9 margin of victory is 52, Martin scored 53. So as long as he scores 1.1 points I would have won. Week 8, I won by 70, Martin scored 35. Didn't even need him. This is immaterial to the point we're arguing, which is that the fluke performances by Martin padded your scoring totals. We're not arguing your wins and losses. You've lost sight of my original premise. In fact, You're making my point for me: Take out the 60-80 points of "flukeness" in those two games, you have the same W-L record, still possibly miss the playoffs but are no longer top three in scoring. Here's where we disagree. I, and many of the sources I use for pre-draft analysis, firmly believed going in that Spiller was going to share, if not monopolize the carries on this team. Which made him, IMHO, a most viable backup RB. I probably had him ranked in the mid/high 20s, higher than a lot of people, which is why I ended up with him on two of my three teams. Great pre-draft analysis. Again, he was serviceable but had almost zero real impact on my W-L.
You lost last week because your whole team underperformed (-3 for your defense?), not because one player went out. Yeah, been playing this game for eighteen years and know for a fact that there is a huge amount of luck involved. That's what makes it interesting. I'll bet coming out of the draft no one gave me a chance, yet here I am at 10-3 and one of the highest, if not the highest, scoring team in the league. Now we go to the playoffs (well, some of us do) where luck becomes an even bigger factor. |

Amen! So I have 2 teams. In our league, I was up by 47 with just Eli and Bryce Brown left for my opponent. In my other league I am starting Eli and Bryce Brown. So Eli/Brown are most likely going to sink this team and possibly help my other team. We're dead even at 93-92 and I have Eli/Garcon and he has Cruz/Bradshaw. I'm sure I will end up losing both teams and falling out of both playoffs. |
