GomesBolt - 2012-10-25 12:34 PM I'm more worried about the lower level folks in this situation. CEOs usually walk away happy.

I don't know I get the gut feeling it is more of just a shuffle than a downing of the company.  I think the market is hypersensitive now and any bad news gets an overreaction.  I may wait till after the Nov. earnings call and buy some.  I will have to look into it.

I bought stock at the employee offering in 2006 - at $26/share. I keep telling myself it's a long term investment! Cry

Ooooh ouch that hurts! But yeah if you think the company has longevity then a small investment is good, just hold onto it. I bought DOW Chemical a few years ago at just under $7 after it hd lost a huge amount of stock value. It is now bouncing around $30 so a good recovery over time is not out of the question. Just remember to not buy too much stock in the company you work for, that is putting too many of your assets (your job and the money you make from it is an asset) into one basket.

No more than 1/3 of your total wealth tied to your employer. That's actually tough to do. If you consider stock matches, options, wages, health benefits, etc. you really are dependant on your employer and probably more than 1/3 of your total wealth is invested there.

I don't know anyone for whom that is actually feasible but it is a good guide.

So, if I'm pro choice, pro gay rights, pro stem cell research, pro military, anti out of control social programs, and pro some sort of EFFICIENT health care reform...

I'm I totally screwed?

No wonder I'm so messed up.  So left and right at the same time - bipolar.  Maybe that's why TAN is like a warm fuzzy blanket for my mushy brain.

Well, milestone for ME...  I finally got all my references, confirmation for my states I was in fact liscenced there, college transcripts, my lifetime work history written down since HS, take home test, and applications (not to mention the fee).  A several month process.  All of it sent of to California...

Now just need to get accpeted and take the survey and seismic tests, then get a job there.  I don't know if the hard part is behind me or in front of me.

haha...  The hard part is in front of me...  unless BA or Goggs is around.

Finished the first season of Homeland...  Pretty good.

The main characters psycosis creates bit of anxiety, and the season end leaves it wide open for season two...   I have the first four episodes for season 2 save up for tonight/this weekend.

We have drugstores on what seems every corner.  I often wonder what that signifies.  Old people?  Poor health here?

There aren't that many good nursing homes there in LV.  Yes I looked.  I think it is that old people visit a lot.
