From the outside in, I can see how that perception could come about.  BUT, on that same note, if you are in need of stuff, ask for it.  If I send the same person a top, tri shorts, bike computer and water bottle because they didn't have it or only had one of it, I have no problem with that.  Auto, this is your thread, but that's just how I see it.  Plus it's at the discretion of the giver.  Just the way I see it.

But I do like the posting who got what just so that everyone can be Thankful for that person.

For the record:  douglasschaefer received the bike computer

tjtron and cxk9758 received the shoe pouches

I think key here is it is at the discretion of the giver. Though I started the thread, it's best that things be decided among us all as the BT community.

Agreed (Like what I think matters- I've offered almost nothing).

There's been things on here I really wanted (Clothes, shoes, GPS!) but becuase I didn't need them, I didn't even pm (even though the GPS really took all of my self control).  It's just not fair.

BUT

I agree that if you need it, and you have nothing, then you should, can, and possibly deserve w/e anyone will give you.  It's an expensive sport, and the things I've recieve really helped (in years past I've gotten everything from shifters to books).

My sit area would love to try a new saddle. My current saddle is the only one I've had and I'd like to try something different. If I like it I will offer up my current saddle on here or if I don't like it I will post this one back on here.

Do you have any idea on shipping to Central Illinois and do you have paypal?

Thanks,
Chris

No crybabies, no whiners. Grow up people.

I have given away many things, and have gotten some (really neat ones) as well. I don't see it as a "fairness" issue, the spirit of this thread is that some of us have extra stuff we don't need, and some of us have needs for stuff. This is a nice virtual swap meet that in the spirit of the thread, seems to be working. Just because someone is not following the thread and log in after the fact and miss something, that's a shame, I wish there could be more to go around,. keep an eye on BT or you may miss out. There are no sore losers - this is not a race, and people are not entitled to get what is in the thread, people are being nice here. People are being kind. It's the time of year. Don't request something that you don't have a use for. If you do have a use for something, and someone is offering it, ask for it. And afterwards, be sure to thank the person you got the item from (I have several emails on the way myself - my surgery has me moving slowly).

I've paid out of pocket to ship several items, as well as paid out of pocket to have some shipped to me as well. That is just a matter of what you work out between the giver and the reciever.

It'll all come down to Karma in the end, and I think my Karma is in the positive at this point.

Just for the record, I still have the following:

I have the following - aside from cranks, all look pretty much new:

8 speed Sunrace 12-24 cassette
Sprocket wheels for Shimano rear derailler
Tektro Brake Levers (not sti)
Tektro Inline Cyclocross bar top brake levers (and I have the original split brake cable housing)
Downtube shifters
square taper BB spindle (only the spindle/bearings - cups were destroyed)
700c Steel Fuji fork
Fuji OEM triple crank arms (sprockets may or may not be straight) square taper

If anyone has the following and does not need it, I'd appreciate the following:

9 or 10 speed cassette (shimano), to go on my trainer rim.

First come/first serve based on the order I get email. I'd prefer emails to:

tj at coachtj dot com

If you can't email, send me a PM.

and a Adidas Torsion TT suit - this is NOT suitable to swim in, but would be great for a duathlon. Size L - fits me fine, I'm 5' 8" 180#. Silk screen graphics coming off - but aside from that it's a good suit.

And as always, I have tons of IStraps available. This is the velcro attachment to connect your Nike+ foot pod to your non-Nike shoe.

If you need any of this stuff, just PM or email me at tj at coachtj dot com. If you don't need any of this stuff, let it be for the next person to read the thread.

Anything coming from me is taking a couple of weeks, due to a vertigo/sinus surgery/really good meds issue. I am shipping as quickly as I can, but i just move slow lately.

I'm in the market for a couple of things to help me with my training:

a lap swim counter

AND

a HRM with a watch.  Right now I carry a stop watch with me but have no idea how hard my heart is actually working.

Thanks for the help!

Is that a seat post in the picture? I don't see it listed in the list. I'm in need of one.

Seat post and calipers are gone, as are several sets of iStraps - though I have plenty velcro left for iStraps left.

I do have to agree with what a lot of people have said as far as only asking for the product if you can use it or need it. I think this thread is great for someone like me who is starting out and getting a lot of great products that I will use in future training and races. Then once I have something that I dont use or need I too will place it on this post and give it to the next person that can use it. I hope people are not being greedy.

Surely someone has a seatpost sitting around to help this guy along? I'll go digging through my pile-o-stuff and see if I have another, but I doubt it. If the rest of you can go check your pile for a seat post, I am sure Caincando1 would be appreciative.

I have a problem....I collect mesh running/racing hats.  I didn't realize the extend of my problem until I opened up a drawer and it was full of hats.  The movers I guess put them in there.  I have about 25 or so.  I am going to look through them and can forsee, at least, parting with 10 - 15 of them.

Here is my question.  Is this something that people would be interested in?  Some of them will probably still have tags on them or never been worn from races.  But NONE will be "ratty".  Do NOT PM me yet, I just wanted to know if there was any interest.

Are the brims soft or hard because I have one that is soft and I hate it because it is too flexible. But that is just my 2 cents.

I collect specific hats both soft and rigid brim- in particular if it has a moose or is somehow moose-related (cartoonish, a saying, a label, etc.) I'd be happy to help you make space for new hats.

They are all rigid.  Similiar to the one I have on in my Avatar.  And I belive I have one that has a Moose on it (Christmas themed).  Might be a Reindeer.

I don't like that look either.  And I think hats do a great job on the sweat issue.  You'll rarely see me running without a hat.   Plus you can put a sponge or ice in there really easily and then push down to get that "awwhhh" feeling.

I have a pair of older style Look pedals if anyone wants them.
I got them from someone on BT last summer and got a new set for b-day before I had a chance to use these.
Perfect for anyone wanting to try this style, preferably newbies.

PM if you want them - donation for shipping (5$) would be greatly appreciated
