It was a slightly busy day today--normal kind of work stuff, but there were some nifty additions too!

--I got to catch some basilisks (very skittish, fast lizards) that I have trained(?) to allow me to simply pick them up, this is twice that the lizards have allowed me to do this!

--I have 35 baby California Tiger Salamanders in quarantine in the zoo's vet hospital(SOP--when new animals arrive, they get a minimum 30 day quarantine), and today I was able to get 17 of them to eat! One tried to eat my thumb! Laughing

--A coworker and I collaborated on a paper regarding a tortoises' medical treatment (it involved a skateboard-like cart)---the paper was published in a nation-wide zookeeping journal!

--I did yet another OWS tonight with some of my awesome tri club friends! Tonight it was 600 meters or so...good times!

Tomorrow I can look forward to station-training some African Spur-Thighed Tortoises, trying to feed the salamanders more/again, and moving a rattlesnake into a new exhibit; followed by a run and a bbq with my crazy coworkers. Smile

I was hoping to get out and run this morning, but I am currently stuck waiting for one of our vendors at work to call me back. Yes, I was at work until 11:30 last night, for a 14 hour day. I woke up at 5:00 am in a cold sweat worried about work, then an hour later from a work nightmare. And that is how I ended up logged in and waiting for a phone call. And all I wanted to do this morning is go for a run and take a picture of the dock that juts out into the bay. It is the turnaround spot when I run in the park a couple of miles from the house. I was hopeful that I'd get the early morning fog lifting from the water. It is a really nice, calming, peaceful type of place. And I could use some peaceful and calm this morning.

I hope our racers do well this weekend and that everyone enjoys whatever the day may bring

I've been up since 6:30.  Baby didn't want to sleep unless she was cuddled up next to me this morning (awww!!).  Unfortunately, that makes it hard for me to sleep.  My husband is up now and I had a choice between going to the gym and going back to sleep.  I'm drinking coffee and heading to the gym.
