Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Asalzwed - 2012-12-13 9:22 AM I remember the first time I ran 10km I was sooooo excited. Now I don't get excited until about 30km hehe! Swim - remember the first time I could do 2x25m freestyle. So excited. Now I'm doing 120x25m and I want more.rrrunner - 2012-12-12 4:18 PM Asalzwed - 2012-12-12 3:07 PM rrrunner - 2012-12-12 4:03 PM I lived on pop-tarts when I was at the academy, i ate the "high-fiber" ones when I was trying to lose weight (there's irony for ya). Now I really don't buy them, although those holiday flavors sound pretty good! Well I got my Jogo challenge done. I went out with a plan of doing something between walking 30 minutes or running the 75 minutes on my plan. I ended up running 58 minutes and running, interestingly, the route that use to be my long run, now it's my medium run. Not bad considering the fact that this morning I was pretty sure my head was going to explode. Forkin' nice work! It's funny how that happens. Glad you are feeling better, or at least pretending that you are. I think the consistency is really helping. The runs seem so much easier now. The occasional tough run still makes me nervous, but it's coming along.
Seriously. It's amazing what consistency can do. I remember when I first started some of my long bikes are now routine long runs. And that wasn't all that long ago! It just blows my mind, the adaptions we can make. Incredible. That's about 6 years of running and 2 years of swimming - wow. |

And I believe it is from adding the consistent 5 days a week, one long run, etc. I'm never going to be at the level of some others, but I am now at a point where I actually enjoy it most days and look forward to it when I haven't done it in a bit. BTW, nice job on getting out there and dong it! |

Getting over the fitness hump and to the point where you are getting out there an enjoying yourself and not so much thinking "how much longer" is right where I think the BIG gains start to come. |

I am a tri-failure. It sorta seems like fishy USAT marketing. But I dunno. Yeah, I probably wont. I think it's one of those things where it provides an opportunity to climb the ladder so to speak. In terms of placing nationally and then going from there (if those are your goals) I don't think I have that kind of time to train the way I would want to as I have my running goals and I want to climb Mt. Rainier this summer. Although it would be a good excuse to get to visit the mid west. Maybe one day I can make some real time for triathlon. |

Master 7712 Orlando | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Ok Manatees, I prepared spaghetti squash for the first time ever this weekend and have eaten it for dinner the last 4 nights. That's the joy of living alone, leftovers go on forever. I have eaten it with veggies, a white meat turkey burger and marinara sauce. While I like this preparation, there must be other ways to prepare it. So, please give me some ways you have incorporated it into your meals. Thanks. |

I have pretty much only used it as a spaghetti substitute. You can have it mixed with some pesto and Parmesan cheese. Something I haven't done but might be good is just mix it up pasta salad style (however you make your pasta salad) and eat it cold. Also something I thought about just now would be to break away from the savory route and go the sweet route and so a little butter/brown sugar/maple syrup or honey since it is squash ... I dunno |

I have a feeling you could qualify for Worlds (just by continuing cross-training in S/B, B = commuting) which is worth going to depending upon which country it's being held in. |

I have consumed more than a kilo of NutriGrain this visit. I'm consuming some now. NutriGrain is what I first learned about Ironman from!
