I am thankful to be in the A/C today.

I don't.

Today is work, then leave around 10:00 and go to the school for Keri's basketball camp awards. After that it is home to feed the kiddos, then around 1:00 when I would normally nap I am supposed to go play lifeguard while my SIL has all of the younger kids at her husband's relatives pools. There will be 5 other adults there. Caleb told me he'd watch the younger kids and I didn't have to go. My SIL gave me a hard time when I told her I'd rather stay at home. Donnie was going to talk to her this morning, he knows I nap then. Anyway, this evening Keri has basketball from 5:00 to 7:00. Then it's home, shower, try to sleep.

Last night Caleb had soccer from 6:00 to 8:00. It was HOT! 92 and humid. I did walk a mile while he was at practice. I filled the gallon jug with ice water, he drank most of it. He is supposed to be running for soccer, he knows this. He realized after Monday's practice he hasn't been running enough.
He asked me where he had to run to for different distances, I think he's starting to take it more seriously. He can also go to strength training and conditioning at the school 3 days a week, I forget which 3. I told him his grandparents would take him, or he could ride his bike. It would be 6.5 miles to go the back way to the school. He's thinking about riding. I told him it can only help him, and he doesn't have to race it, especially on the way home, he can take his time.

How did your field trip yesterday go?

Oh, and when I posted this this morning, I was already at work. I've been up since before 3:00.

Hot, Odd and Scary.

97 degrees. Think of educated Duck Dynasty with out so much body hair, add Mongo from Blazing Saddles and you get an idea of the people. Take heavy metals, cyanide and acids all leaking and mixing together and add in way out in the middle of no where. Drums of scary waste everywhere. One was out in the field.. I asked what was in it.. they said it is Dave's. I asked where Dave was.. the two there looked at each other, sighed, then called for Dave. Here came a walking building! Dave grunted that he filled it up to train with, it was water. He proceed to pick up the full drum and take it back to where it should have been and said, "Sorry, I won't play with drums anymore".  55 gallons of water at 8 pounds a gallon.. you do the math! I swear, I was in a non-reality, reality show!

Um... we're talking 400 - 450 pounds. DAMN!

How did your field trip yesterday go?

Tomorrow I get to go to a one day conference.  Two hour drive each way.  

But then in one week I will be on a plane to Las Vegas.  The ALA conference is there this year.  Frank is coming and we will stay a couple of extra days and see some shows.  Our big ticket item is to see Cirque du Soleil's O.  

Fun! there is some good hiking in the area as well. I would LOVE to see Cirque du Soleil anything! the drag queen reviews are hilarious, though not to everyones taste. some of those men are more woman that I will ever be

Happy FFFFRIDAY back at you.

Yesterday was not Keri's day at basketball camp.

Her 5v5 team lost in the finals. Her 3v3 team lost in the finals. She lost the 1v1 finals to an 8th grader who had almost a foot of height on her. She also lost the hot shot contest to an 8th grader. It just wasn't her day.

Sorry! Some days you are the windshield, some days the bug. Those are tough days. She needs ice cream!

Surprisingly no ice cream yesterday. There was, however, swimming, and watermelon.

I'd take swimming and watermelon over icecream any day!

I'm bored.

I'm stuck at work for 3 more hours.

I'd rather be paddle boarding.

I'm bored, I am stuck at work for 8 more hours. I would rather be doing LOTS of other things. Let's go play!

I'LL GRAB MY PADDLE BOARD AND HEAD SOUTH!!!

I'll ice up the beverages. The temp is HOT and the lake is perfect!
