i am helping design the bike course for the Mossman Half iron, the bike course will be one of the tougher half courses around, the run will be no joke either.  I think i guestimated around 4k in climbing for the course, maybe a little less.

Awesome!  Are you in for the half?  You have to do it if you're designing it so it'll slaughter everyone's legs on the bike

I eat too much food, people.  I eat all. day. long.  Stuffing my face as I sit here at the computer.  Ok, gotta go eat more.  The downside to being a stay-at-home mother.

not a chance, that would be 3 half iron races in a 30 day period, i am not Kelly, i do not do the volume to handle 3 races of that distance, especially when 2 of them will have 4k ft of climbing during the race.

I will volunteer and probably be a bike marshall, Kelly had posted a question about it on the Team Mossman Facebook page, but i thought it would be more fun to respond here.

I was just teasing you.  I knew you weren't doing the race.  That's cool that you'll be a bike marshall.  I am going to volunteer for a local race this summer, too.  Haven't decided which one yet (perhaps the Cleveland HM if I can't race it this year b/c of my leg).

I would prefer about 2K as a mimic for IMNYC.  Hilly runs are always good.

I'm trying to remember how the BT mapper gauges vertical feet compared to a garmin or map my ride.

How is your leg doing?  How many weeks out from running again?  Any aqua running?

Leg is feeling better!  I haven't had any pain over the last 2 weeks.  I am going to call my doctor next Tuesday, as that will be 4 weeks since I stopped running and went to see her.  I think she'll tell me to proceed with caution, but I could be wrong.  I am aqua running once a week.  It is actually way more challenging than I thought it would be.  It's sooooooooooo boring though.  I would much rather be running outside in the 85 degree weather we had today.  Thank you for asking, Carrie.

Yeh you kinda have to have a waterproof music player for aqua jogging, but it can be as challenging as you make it. Try to do some sprints, I guarantee you will get your HR up.Glad the leg is feeling better, hopefully on the road soon!

Got registered for the Jay Benson triathlon tonight. Glad I went early, too. Pre-registration tonight was listed as 6:30-8:30. I got there at 6:10 and they had started at about 5:30. I got sheet number 108 (out of 400 spots they were holding for tonight).

This race sells out almost as quickly as most Ironman races do! I bet it will be full within 30 minutes of opening up the online registration tomorrow morning.

Swim, short run and a tale of how Ironman training is tearing apart a marriage of a friend.  Note to all triathletes: be honest and up front with your spouse about how much training this really entails.  Candy coating it so that they let you register will only come back to bite you later.

Bike fit this morning and hopefully some trainer time later.

Kelly - I have followed Mary Eggers since you first mentioned her name last year - she seems so down to earth, relatable, incredibly inspiring, and I LOVE what she is doing with Lance. I would love to go to the lecture that night and hear Lance speak and hear who wins! You are so lucky to know her personally!

For the women, what saddle is on your bike. I think I would like to try another saddle. Even though the bike fit I had made it more comfortable, I still have pain in the front area, not the sit bones, after some time. Suggestions?

Scott-  Good luck with the fit!  Keep us posted and we want pics once you have settled on a bike.

Michele - I just swapped out my saddle for an ISM road saddle.  It's way more comfortable.  You have a tri bike now; right?  You'll need a different saddle for that, so perhaps some of the other ladies can point you in the right direction.

My planned swim was too long to go this morning, so I'll be hitting the pool later tonight.  I detest late evening swims, but what can you do?!  Inspector is coming over a 1:00.  Hope we don't have many violations.   I think it might push my husband off the edge.  He's been crazy lately.

Had a good bike and transition run last night and swam 3200 this morning.

Tuesday night I went to a swim coach to get my stroke looked at and wow was I shocked. i look at my self as a decent swimmer but he told me about 6 things i could fix so I spent all morning tring to work on his pointer. (most importantly swimming correctly makes me slower and it hurts more) I will try to work through it.

The STRESS OF IM ON MARRAIGE

I had my wife press enter on the computer after iIput in my credit card number. She entered me I did so that way she knew what she was getting into she is an olympic distance races so she understands.

Training time is a CONSTANT discussion in our house and we don't have kids.

I don't think its possible to make the HIM / IM commitment without support from your spouse/SI

Ugh, I looked at my training log for this month...pathetic. It's a wonder I haven't gained 20 pounds. Being out of town for 2 weeks with one on a cruise isn't conducive to working out regularly. And my mom is still in town (been here since the last week of February) so I've been doing stuff with her.

I did get her to go for a walk after my run yesterday, though.

I have 2 friends who both have 2 or more kids that were a "bit vague" in the training time needed to do their best at IMTX.  Both are at the brink of divorce.

Bike fit is done.  Apparently me and my camera have done a fairly decent job of setting up my bike.  Basically slammed my stem and moved my saddle forward.  She indicated that if I were going to stay on this bike for any length of time she'd recommend a shorter stem and a new saddle, but since I'm off soon there was no reason to sink any more money into the bike.  She was having tech issues with the Frame Finder software (doh!!) so no frame recommendations yet.  She'll email those today.

Kelly, same saddle that it came with. I had a bike fit and I was more comfortable, but I still am in pain after about 45 minutes. I got a new pair of Sugoi bike shorts and thought that would help, and it did, but still having discomfort. someone suggested I get a specialized romin?

Kelly, I will donate this weekend to Mary's cause.  She's doing a great thing.  Did I read the goal is now $100,000?  Wehn initially she was "hoping" for $1,000.  I truly hope she can reacht hat goal.  It would do amazing things for those kids!!

45 minute run at lunch.  It was 80 degrees, and I sweat my **** off! It's March.  Def not complaining

First mountain bike race of the season this sunday.  This one is a time trial, only about 8.5 miles, and not too technical but technical enough to hurt yourself.   It's pretty much a sprint, HR will average 170+ I'm sure! Finished 4th in my class last year, hope to beat that this year.  although, they have changed the course up a bit and I am not familiar with it!

So on my run today the humidity was about 70% by the time I finished, like trying to suck air through a straw. This worries me a bit that it is happening so early in the year. It is just a matter of getting used to running in humidity? Does your body acclimate? I did Galloway last year so always had breaks, but different this year. Any thoughts?
