I was up all night long coughing.....ALL NIGHT.  I threw up because I coughed so hard.  Got about 4 hours of sleep broken up.  When my alarm went off at 5, I shut it off.  I never do that!  Guess I thought what's the point of doing these training sessions if I can't get any sleep and recover from them?  Good thing I have a babysitter coming later.  I was supposed to run errands during my "free time," but now it looks like I have to do hill repeats and a swim instead.

My husband said he won't install our a/c window units upstairs because "he's tired of doing it every year."  My kids are up all night long, crying and whining because they can't sleep in this heat.  I'm so mad right now.  Couldn't even say goodbye to him as he left this morning. Sooo.....I have to try to install these things myself.  How to do this?  I don't know....off to google.

ummmmmm....rest might be a good idea.

a/c's are easy but better with 2 people as you need to close the window on the a/c to keep it in place before you fix it to the window frame. make sure you pick a window near an outlet if you have the option.

i think it is time for Steve to bust out the ole' swamp cooler!!!!!!

So, Ive been a bit MIA this weekend.  My partner came down with a nasty case of food poisoning and I ended up taking over several depositions.  Fun stuff but time consuming.

Tomorrow morning Shaun and I are off to Turks & Caicos for my college roommate's wedding.  Should be fun.  Lots of swimming in the ocean.

Be careful with the coughing.  I know you like to train through everything but you know you shouldn't mess around with your lungs.

I know.  I don't have a fever or anything that indicates infection, so I don't think it's bronchitis.  It's just a viral cough that won't go away!  Because I have asthma, this thing could last for 3 weeks.  Sucks.

What is this rest you speak of?

Apparently the windows aren't level, so when you go to put them in, they tilt in towards the house.  I have to cut some wood to put under the units so they are level.  I don't know.  I don't want to use that power saw in the basement.  I'm all about girl power, but this is a bit much, even for me.  This is for dudes to do, dammit.

Being sick sucks. Especially when you can't just curl up in bed because you have 2 kids to parent.  Boo.

Recovery stuff for me today.  I got a decent night's sleep last night (only up twice with coughing fits), so I feel human again. Weather is supposed to cool down today, so things are looking up

I wonder how this week of 90 degree weather affected the lake temperatures.  I have another oly tri next weekend.  It's probably 50/50 wetsuit legal.  Off to check the temps......

Easy 2200 swim this morning and this afternoon I have a 5+ hour ride followed by a 40 min run. Hopefully the T-showers hold off.

I'm done for the week.

S:6000.00 Yd 2h 00m all OWS
B: 32.42 Mi 1h 48m 30s
R:  2.51 Mi 25m 17s

If I had to do it again I wouldn't have done the run. Swam 2400 this morning and man was the water warm after the last two days of hot weather. I doubt it was wetsuit legal. I'll take tomorrow off and then Sunday I'm going to let my legs decide how long I go for. I may take it easy for another week to heal up.

Taking another day off to make sure I'm good to go.  Fever is gone so that's a good thing.  On a positive note my mother in law and Cindy's aunt are taking my kids starting after lunch today through Sunday evening.  I'm a bit excited.

So psyched. Tomorrow is my 11th wedding aniversary and the wife booked us 90 minute massages and mine is the deep tissue athletic package. Post Patriot I'm still beat up and so looking forward to it. Three days later is the anniversary of when we started dating which is 19 years. Hard to believe anybody has put up with me for that long.

Thanks guys. Good luck to our racers. I'll be living vicariously through your reports so make them Rudy good! My mind cannot wait to race again but my body is still holding the yield sign and screaming slow down.

Happy Anniversary, everlong!

Good luck and have fun to all the racers this weekend.

Just in from a 3 mile run. Still having to stop and walk a bit/stretch to keep my foot/achilles in line, but it's feeling better every day.

Morning everyone!

Day 3 in Provo Turks and Caicos.  The island is beautiful and the swimming is fantastic (the run is much nicer than at home but my pace is super slow in the sand).

Snorkeling, swimming and doing 2 split runs todays.

Morning, all!  Busy, busy weekend so I wasn't around so much.  Rode out to Aurora on Saturday.  Lots of hills and fought the wind, but I put in a solid effort and felt good about it once I was done.  Yesterday's run was mediocre, but my legs were so tired from Saturday...I just didn't have much left to give.  We ended up getting a call for a showing on Saturday night for Sunday morning, and my house was messy, so I spent all evening running around my house like a crazy lady.

Recovery swim this morning.  Felt like dead weight in the water.  LOL  I hope tomorrow's swim goes better.  Short recovery run after I drop off the older kids at camp.

Kelly - Nice pictures!  It looks like a beautiful wedding!

Michele - Congratulations on your sprint triathlon!  Nice bike split!
