kidtri33 - 2013-02-22 3:06 PMSo...I know I have mentioned that I will have news today and that my race schedule will be changing. Well we are expecting another child Due date officially now is 10/3. So I had to drop out of Augusta but there is always next year. I am now going to be doing REV3 Williamsburg as my first HIM. We are excited about the new addition but not happy about giving my money away to WTC haha!
Congrats! Excited for you guys, but bummed you won't be doing Augusta.

What I've done in Florida can't compare to the Caribbean! I can only imagine how wonderful it was. Where did you go?

the Bahamas! The water is the color of windex (my husband's words)... there are something like 700 islands there, some not inhabited... I wanted to literally swim to this deserted island I could see in the distance from where we were but my husband talked me out of it... swam around the beach.  Only problem is my burned behind

jarvy01 - 2013-02-22 7:32 AM Recommendations for cycling jackets?  I plan to start riding earlier this spring, but I want to make sure I have the right gear.  It's still pretty chilly here in the spring.

For jackets, check this out.  http://foxwear.net/  This guy buys technical fabrics in bulk - the same stuff that the North Face, Patagonia, and all the rest use in their products, and makes jackets custom by himself.  He'll help you design what materials to use in your jacket based on your riding style, and his prices are really reasonable.  I've got a jacket and some winter base layers from him that I'm really happy with.

For cold-weather cycling (or even non-cycling) jerseys, I'm a huge fan of these: http://wabiwoolens.com/.  Wool is the original miracle fabric, and these jerseys are incredibly well made - light, warm, no synthetic fabric stink, and no sagging pockets in the back.  Finally, Harth Huffman, the owner, is the nicest guy going.  Pricier than the ones above, but highly, highly recommended.

I sound like a drooling stooge, I know, but I don't have any interest in either place.  I just like both and try to support small domestic companies making good products.

Thank you for all of this information!  I am going to check it out today.

Hill repeats today.  Felt really solid.  I'm feeling so optimistic about my April and May HMs.  I guess we'll see.  I just keep thinking that my race is in 6 weeks and we still have snow and ice on the ground.  It better start warming up.  I'm over the cold weather.

3 x 30 bike test done.  Now on to the last weekend of normalcy around here.  Next weekend we'll hopefully be packing to go to the hospital.

OK, so I had my first real swim today.  Getting off to a slow start because I really dislike lap swimming, but it's gotta be done.  Did 24 full laps (25 yd. pool) in 45 minutes.  I wanted to do 30 in that time so that is my first goal.  I did take a break after lap 14.  I will try to eliminate that.  Planning on a run in a couple of hours - maybe speed play run at the track.  So much of my time is spent running on lots of hills...

That's fantastic! I'm sure I can't run 10k at that speed!
