Yep Pretty pumped up. I am doing a full run through Saturday. Not the distance but just checking everything. I really think I will gain some good time in the transistions on my friend so I am trying to get that all squared away. He seems to be pretty pokey in the T1 and T2 areas. I am planning on barefooting it the whole race. Want to make sure I can get my feet into my bike shoes easy while wet and also just got some speed laces in so get them set up. I have ran barefoot the last 2 times with no issues. I will also be sporting my Tri Groups new Tri Shirt so I expect to have some fun.

It was pretty nice of you to give everyone else a chance and do an extra 4 miles on the bike. Still super fast on the swim. Still put down some speed.

So Sunday morning I am heading over to do my OWS and then ride about 30 miles. I wake up at 5:45 and out the door like 10 minutes after that. Stop by 7-11 and get some coffee and a snack. Its about a 40 minute drive for me to get there. So I get to this point where my stomach informs me there will be a #2 in 4 minutes. I try to negotiate and say there is a whatabuger by the swim spot. The response I get is "No negotiating, you now have 3:30". So I am driving at a higher rate of speed and seeing a gas station light up ahead and thinking I have been saved. Of course they are not open yet. "2:45", me = "please I need more time" stomach = "sorry no". So I am going 70 down a 35 mph road looking for a open place. I pass another closed gas station. "1:15". Every good pilot knows when he is not going to make a runway and has to ditch, and this is one of those times. 99% of the time there are napkins, Kleenex, paper towels in my vehicles because of kids. Well today is that 1%. Nothing not one damn thing. ":45 seconds". Open fields to my right, barbed wire fence line 25 ft off the road with trees and brush on the other side, basically no cover. Scaling fence is not an option as it will certainly result in poor results. So I have to squat close to the fence in plain view of any on coming traffic. Now some may wonder why I showed up to swim in a shirt that had one of the sleeves ripped off. Now they know why.

Rough morning start but all is looking up now. I grab my stuff head down to swim and all is good. There are 3-4 park benches out there to set stuff and one was pretty crowded so I stopped off by the other and dropped my towel and signed in and dropped the rest of my stuff there. I swqim and get out and all is ok. But my keys are not with my shorts and shoes. Well crap I must have dropped them walking down to the lake. I retrace my steps like 5 times and have a friend helping. No Keys. Car is locked cell is in the car and I have no idea what my wifes number is because its in my cell. So I call my dad to get my sisters number to get my wifes number. Tell her I must have locked the keys in the car and she is goig to ahve to drive out here and bring me the spare. Now I have missed the group ride. The about 5 minutes later this grounds keeper comes by in a cart and says he found a hat and a couple towels. I said not my hat, but that is my towel. I graab the towel and instantly remember, I rolled the keys in the towel. Whala there are my keys. They guy said he asked someone who just got out of swimming if this was our groups and they said "No all our stuff is over there"  so he took it.

I have pooed in the middle of a cornfield during a group run, and ended up getting attacked by farm dogs in the process... but that's a story for another time methinks.

I ended up riding then. Instead of the 2 hours I had planned on I only had an hour. Then headed to the lake and wake boarded for a few hours. I am a little sore from that.
