Was lucky enough to have time to squeeze in an easy spin to loosed up legs. Jim - check your total on the spreadsheet. I mistakenly started entering my data on your line and think I got the right numbers put back in but am not quite sure. Mitch- Its all good. |

Still angry at the fact my last of four bottles froze at mile 12 yesterday. Or I can look at the brightside and be happy I had 24 oz of hydration before the freezing temps had their way. I am so ready for warmer temps. Who here from the northern latitudes get the really itchy skin after running in the cold for an hour or two? Think its caused by the blood returning to the skin. Another thought, you know its really early and cold when you run for over 2 hours on normally well populated streets/sidewalks and you don't see another soul. |

The swim is in a channel and with the current so very quick and easy swim. The only hill is a bridge over the river - nice easy beginner course.:-)markhodges1973 - 2013-03-25 3:06 PM I just signed up for my first 70.3!! B2B is a classic race - well done. Swim times are typically ridiculously fast based on currents. Many IM distance swimmers at B2B easily go sub 60:00. |

I think the run portion of a tri should be on those airport walkways then. Just keep going back and forth until you get the correct mileage. Times would be fast! (And congrats Mark! You will do great.) |

My checks itch when the blood returns to them. I don't see people and few cars between labor day and memorial day. But for those three months in the Summer traffic is constant. Mark- You are going to have a great time, just soak it up and enjoy it. Edited by JBacarella 2013-03-26 7:17 AM |

Hey E, I'm jealous that you will be doing IMTX in 7 weeks, what a great race and memories from last year! I wish I could be there to return the favor for the incredible support and coaching you provided me with for my first IM . Based on your experience to date and your recent performance with a new PR in Puerto Rico, I know you will do great in TX, animos amigo! |

Master 3022 | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Got new shoes last night (the quickest I've ever gone over 400 miles on a pair!)- same brand and style I've been wearing the last 5 years (Brooks Adrenalines). Figured its too close to a couple half marathons to change now. May pick up a pair of Hokas and try them out and use them off and on through summer then convert over after the season? Picked up a pair of Superfeet Blue Insoles as well. Want to try them to see if they alleviate some of the foot soreness. Got them at REI so I know I can return whenever if they don't work out. One thing I've noticed from running on the treadmill most of the winter - my legs are not used to running on concrete. Given my stress fracture last year, the cushioned deck of the treadmill is probably good, but after 8 miles outside on Friday and 15 miles outside on Sunday, my hamstrings are very sore.

I can't get over how light the dang thing is. Taking it out tomorrow, i'm 3 weeks out from my first race this year. Should be awesome. Can't wait to see how long it takes before I take my first tumble with clipless pedals Edited by flyingpenguin 2013-03-26 7:18 PM |

My youngest daughter is on an AAU Volleyball team and she has a tournament in Flint that weekend. Yes, I am going to spend a very fine spring weekend in Flint?! If I do run that weekend I should be faster, because I will be running for my life! Have a good race. I am looking at the Dow Festival of races Great Lakes Marathon on May 19. |

Expert 2811 | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed I had a bit of reality today. I was very excited because they built a YMCA near the Federal court in Bay City (only an hour and a half away). I have to go down there 2-4 times per month. I figured instead of lunch, I would swim. I quickly discovered how out of swim shape I am. It felt like one of those Biggest Loser challenges were they add weight every lap. After 1200 meters I was dead and each lap was slower than the last. I guess I have some work to do once the ice breaks on the lake. |

My youngest daughter was born on Groundhog's Day and its been sort of a nickname for her (we will probably have to pay a therapist for that one someday). Her response is that people didn't pay close enough attention to the prediction and it was actually in 6 weeks you will wish it was Spring, followed by you people need to toughen up. |
