Instead of skipping through the commercials I made them hill climbs. Worked out pretty good! NICE!!!!!! |

Nothing like popping on the headphones going long to make the most out of a beautiful fall day. Love the fact that you turned the clock off and just ran for the pure fun of it. The only thing missing is your beer report... Speaking of being the greatest wife ever - filling up a growler of Stone is a good way to cement that status. If you ever teach a seminar - sign my wife up! |

This past weekend, training on every day, 2 bikes, 2 runs, setting up the week nice and back on track for monthly goals! weight loss took a bit of a hit last nite. Went for thin crust gourmet pizza and ended up at a wing place...bad chickens swimming in the deep fryer like that. Bad poutine....oh well hopefully not too bad! Have a great week everyone! Glad to hear you got back on track with the workouts - a solid effort! Love the fact that ended up at a wings place by accident. Accident my a$$. Kind of like saying all I wanted was a hug after making love to your wife for an hour... |

Question - do they sell Sleeman out where you live? |

First off - LOVE the fact that we are usually the most recent post on the archived forum list. We are hard core! Second - congratulations on the training and good eating. I know you aren't imbibing this month - if you reach your goals you should buy yourself a really good beer. What beer would you reward yourself with if you hit your numbers? How 'bout a tasty fruit beer! |

Granville island and big rock are a couple you may find that have better beers by far! I find that if they don't do an IPA they are too big for their britches! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Nice work Thor on the totals. Even Nicer choices on beverages. I joined you off the wagon for a few. My new plan is to imbibe for one period in a month. (think training periodization here) I went to the really cool beer store and dropped $35 on good beers. Now I'm going CT for the rest of the month. I may buy one six pack at the 13 hour sale tomorrow, but that's only if it's at a good rate. Then that's it for this month. My motivation is this. I had gotten down to 183 prior to the beer store a week or so ago. I just lost 2 lbs, but only after gaining 5 lbs back. That's a net gain of 3 lbs. I think if I allow a monthly splurge, then batton down the hatches, this will be my best way of staying on the straight and narrow. 3 weeks off, 1 week on. In a training update, I ran a 7:30/mi pace over my 6.2 miler this morning. Am taking tomorrow off while wife goes to the gym, may do my sit and be fit video if I can muster the energy.

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() You guys are just awesome...not so much what you do but that you share the highs and lows and all the struggles...and somewhere along the way succeed. I am at a low again...bloody noses two, three times a day, ulcer in my eye and I am exhausted. I was asleep by 8 last night and awoke tired. Something is just not right. Headed to the eye doc this afternoon. I hate, HATE, missing work but I may have to take some time this afternoon...just a hot mess this morning. So I am showering away and next thing I realize there is blood everywhere! Like a scene from Psycho Another fierce bloody nose...I try to get ready still; tissue on nose grab my old glasses and run out the door. About a half hour into my drive I realize that one of the lenses to my glasses is missing! WTF..it was there when I started, I think? Who knows, I only where one contact anyway so that was not too much of a problem. 45 mins into the drive another bloody nose. Seriously, a hot mess this morning! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hi Guys, Thanks for the encouragement! On the mend and did a five mile race yesterday morning. Going through our town on Friday Night I saw a reader board announcing a race for the morning. So I was up early and did the race. Note to self cheap vodka and pizza do not make a great pre race dinner! I was ill prepared and struggled with endurance and strong head winds. I know what I need to do and need to get crackin'. Oh the beer, St. Bernarbus Abt 12.http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/259/1708 |
