oh, oh, oh!

we may have a renter for our house - we should find out more tomorrow!

YAY!!!

Hi Nibbs, drive by cause I'm fried between this mornings swim and the spinerval I just finished.

I'm really thinking about a century next spring in Asheville, NC...base of the Smoky Mts so it would be uber hilly.  Trying to get Pam to do it with me

Sounds like fun to me... what does Pam think?

She sounded like she'd consider it, said it was good timing for a  hilly century with her build for CdA.

Well keep up the campiagn... sounds like its something you really want to do!

QueenZipp - 2008-09-23 8:59 PM When we moved here in 2004 we planned a trip back to PA for Superbowl weekend 2005...the year the Eagles played New England.  Our old church hosts a geat Superbowl party every year and it was a great excuse to go home and root for the birds--even though they got clobbered.   We haven't been back to Philly since--though I'd love to do a race up there sometime for the same excuse to visit friends [/QUOTE]

and maybe meet up with some new friends

So Cat,

where is your bro off to?

Off to Melbourne with his gf - they are sick of living out of packs (not that I can blame them) so have a gig house sitting down there for a month, in which time they are going to find somewhere to live and get themselves established...

Good excuse for a trip to Mel!

Hi NIbbs!!!!

How's everyone doing?

Hello there - did your day improve?

Well, I skipped out early, went for a bike ride, cooked dinner, about to finish my second beer of the night....

and oh yeah, I broke down and bought a fluid trainer for the winter

I am dreading work tomorrow though, my bosses manager says that if i don't speak to him, she will.

Basically I feel like he is questioning my competency (does he know about my BT time?) I've been in the same position for EIGHT years!!!!  I think I know how to do at least the basics!!!

We had the DUMBEST arguement today over getting flyers out to the schools.
He "Why isn't someone bundling the flyers?"
Me "I am still waiting on the approval letter from the district"
We went in this circle at least THREE to FOUR times!!!!

He wanted me to have someone bundle the flyers and then go back and slip the letter in afterwards, which quite frankly is stupid b/c it takes more time to get it in between two crisscrossed rubberbands and under another 1/2 sheet of paper than to just wait and do it al at once.

It took me ten minutes to complete it all once I got the letter.

This was the most recent straw and the pile is getting high, it needs to be bailed!!!

Actually the problem is that he is a workaholic and expects everyone else to be the same....
I've been there, done that.... Now I have a husband and family too....

One of my responsibilities with the upcoming youth basletball season is marketing....
The local NBA team prints up our flyers (70K of them) and we distribute them. I knew the boxes were on their way, but he was getting impatient, so last Tues (I think) I ran off 200 inhouse to put in our racks (on yellow paper)... he runs off another 200 or so on astro blue paper (ooooohhhhh)..... it's kind of like he didn't like how I did it so he did it again.....   DUDE , you don't like the paper, get the office manager to order different stuff (that will break our budget)

Oh thats definatley him being a micro manager, anal retentive kind of guy that cant just ask someone to do something then trust them to get it done...

Sounds to me like he thinks his way is the best way whether it is or not (and even though there are other ways of getting the same results)... can you tell Ive worked with people like that?

More like arrogant, krass, a**hole....
He's been in the organization for about 10 to 11 years.... about 8 or 9 were at my current level, but different facility.... then he was a manager at a different facility for a year or so, then at my facility for the past 1 1/2 yr....
I guess I'm somewhat protective of my position and thoughts b/c out of our entire team of full-time staff I have been there the longest.

Im sure you will find the best approach for handling it... and just think.. .this time tomorrow you will have dealt with it

Fluid trainer sounds like fun!

Yep... I'm thinking that I'll write down some points that I want to make so I don't forget.. and then I can document his responses...
Document, document, document, document.... yep that's the gov't way, document

Time for beer #3

The fun part is writing the email after the meeting:

'Dear Mr Boss Man,

Thank you for taking the time to sit down with me today to discuss why you need a firecracker put under you to get your act together.

Here is brief summary of the discussion and the action points (to which I have places the person responsibles initials next to each - you will notice 99% of these are your responsibility which means you will have to do something.)

......."

LOL.... I like the firecracker part....

So he didnt come to you and talk to you about it first?

Oh thats definatley him being a micro manager, anal retentive kind of guy that cant just ask someone to do something then trust them to get it done...

Sounds to me like he thinks his way is the best way whether it is or not (and even though there are other ways of getting the same results)... can you tell Ive worked with people like that?

I actually used the analogy with his manager today that "there's more than one way to butcher a cow and still get a nice piece of meat"  , she laughed

^^^ sounds like he might see you as a threat?

So is the issue 100% about how he is with you - or everyone in general?
