i just decided to do a sprint tri on Saturday.  It is on the same course as my firs tri (on father's day).  It will be neat to see my improvement.  My goal is to improve my time by 15 minutes-it may be a little ambitious, but my swim, T1 and run times have really improved.

I am going to meet and carpool with snailfish.  He lives about an hour north of me-this way he will have half the the driving and gas costs.

Is it a pool or OWS?

Aren't the temps starting to drop up there?

Open water- a pool swim would suck!

It is in a small man-made lake, and it is only 250 yards. But because it is only 250 yards I would like to skip the wetsuit(mine is really tight in the calves and takes longer than I would like to get off). This weekend is suppose to be warm so the water will hopefully still be in the sixties.

High Sixties shouldn't be too bad.... 'course I'm a wuss at sticking my face in cold water

250 yds?  That means most of your time will have to be cut between your bike and your run and some in transitions (of course no wetsuit will shorten a lot right there).....
Good luck!!!  Hope you pull of a big  time difference

In the first tri I really over did the swim so my T-1 time was around 6 minutes. I could barely stay upright when I came out of the water. My swim time may be about the same w/out the wet suit-but I will lose 5 minutes in T-1. I took it easy on the bike and walked most of the run. I will push myself throughout the event this time-I am more aware of what I can manage.

I could wear 2 silicone caps to help keep my head warm-and do a lot of sighting.

Um, I don't see a new Nibbs.

So I'll just keep posting here.

I think TinkerBeth got sidetracked.

am I only dreaming?

Or is this burning..

an eterrnal flaaaaaaaaaaaame?

Exactly. Writing the post got it stuck there again too.

That was a pretty Dee-ish thing to do wasn't it

Here is some Talking Heads that I've had stuck for a while:

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack

And you may find yourself in another part of the world

And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile

And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful

wife

And you may ask yourself-Well...How did I get here?

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down

Letting the days go by/water flowing underground

Into the blue again/after the money's gone

Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

A "Dee-ish thing to do"????

What? Someone did something evil?

And I wasn't here to see it?

Wahhhhh.

Sighting is good...  Must swim in straight line, unless course is squiggled....

It is an out and back, along a line with a rowboat at the far end.  with less than 50 people competing it is not to hard to keep on track.

Hm. That would be the Evil Dee Triathlon.

1) Swim in a squiggly line.
2) Swim in a straight line.
3) Swim in a circle.

Yep. That's three, which makes it a tri.

Oh, and good luck finding the Finish Line. It's a moving target. Only I know where it is.... And if you stop before you reach it, you get zapped with a cattle prod.

And the cattle prod is extra special when you are in the water.

The moving target is a swan.  you need to catch it and put it in a cage to win. BTW swans are really mean and they bite. Hard.

but have to share this first...

walking through weight room from main offices to my office...
Little dude standing on his toes checking out his calves in the mirror (looking over his shoulder to see)
Really funny, b/c not only are mine bigger.... but my tri's are probably the same size as his calves (and they are small)

  LOL
