I'm going to look around for a new trisuit today.  Anyone know of any deals out there?  My husband is going to kill me if I spend a bunch of money.  I'm supposed to be cutting back.  Oops

If you know your sizing and what brand fits you right I'd try Ebay and be patient. I've picked up cycling jerseys that are good quality for $15, Aquasphere Cayanne goggles for $10, cyclying shorts for $15,  swim jammers for $10, Saucony Kinvara's for $45, etc. You just have to be patient. I'll monitor stuff for weeks on end until I get the price I want. I haven't done a trisuit because I'm on a team and use that suit.

Scott - That recipe is something I would make  Were they any good?  I made a Mexican 2 bean soup in the crockpot yesterday, which turned out to be keeper.  Crockpots on Mondays and Wednesdays because we're busy driving the kids to swim practices and lessons.

Bike/run this morning.  Legs felt dead and tired.  Hopefully tomorrow's swim will help.  Since it's the 4th and my husband is off work, I don't have to leave for the gym until 6.

They were awesome.  I made the quinoa mixture and thought it was a little bland.  Good thing I didn't go crazy because I forgot I was stuffing it into poblanos.  Cindy thought it was a little spicy.  More cheese or more sauce may even it out.  Served it with a spinach salad.

Jen- I don't know how you do it without A/C! We lost power last night about midnight for some reason and all the kids woke up including the little one which meant daddy and mommy were up late. We moved everyone to the basement which is cooler but when the alarm went off to get up for swimming I had probably only slept about 3 hours.

I have a sprint tri on Saturday. It is a pool swim so it should be interesting. Hopefully I am doing the passing and not getting passed like I have been in Master's lately haha.

I have never done a pool tri.  I think it would actually suit me better than an OWS but I've never fully comprehended the logistics.

You're not missing much.  Maybe I've just had a bad experience in my one, IDK.  Guess we'll find out next weekend.

BTW signed up for Galveston 70.3 this morning.

So TJ Fry, local KQ guy, and purveyor of all things Ironman in The Woodlands just posted on his company's FB page IMTX is on for 5/18/2013 in The Woodlands and registration will open in approx. a week.

Whew.  Now I don't have to look for a plan B.

is it regular order (swim first) with a seeded start? I bet you'll pass more than you'll get passed. I've done both kind, regular and reverse, and always do way more passing (and I'm not a fast swimmer...2min/100 is all out for me!).

Heading downtown for Peachtree 10k. Really think this is last year I'm dragging my butt our of bed to go run in a sauna with 60k people. Hoping I catch a free shirt, that makes it worthwhile sometimes.

I don't think I was meant to get a swim in today. I was supposed to get to an OWS with the local tri club, but there were storms early this am. Then I went to the pool at the gym only to get kicked out after 20 minutes when 25 70 year olds invaded for their aqua aerobics class. I never go that late and had no idea. So I came home and went for a run while my son biked near me - at least it wasn't a completely lost day.

Happy 4th everyone!!!

No free shirts! I was too far back this year in the corrals so by the time I passed Moe's they were throwing only wrist sweat bands. It was hot today, you could have wrung me out! I do love Peachtree, it's great people watching. And today I saw pizza, crispy cream, and beer of course being handed out.

It is a seeded swim based on what you tell them your 100m time is. I worry about the wait and cooling down too much. We'll see what happens.

yeah, the wait will suck, no two ways about it. I had about 20 minutes from the time I got in line until I got in the water for the seeded start I did.

Can someone talk to me about mile repeats?  If your pace for each repeat is about the same (or each one gets a few seconds faster), does that mean you're doing it right?  I could have pushed myself harder during the first mile and got it into the 7s, but then my last one would have been a lot slower.  My average HR for each mile went up as well, and I assumed that was a good thing.  Can someone take a look at my logs and give me some feedback, please?  Also, can you tell me how you approach this type of workout, as this is the first time I've really done this?

Thanks, all!

You should look for all the repeats to be at the same pace (or for your last repeat to be slightly faster than your first) but your HR should go up for each repeat.  The goal is to get faster as you go, not slower.  The first time you do repeats its tough because you don't know exactly how they'll feel and how hard you can push yourself but it'll get easier the more you do them.

Only rode the part on Hudson Terrace leading from transition to the Palisades Parkway.  The Parkway (which comprises 108 miles of the bike course) is a highway so bikes are not allowed.
