Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Mint Choc Gu sounds FABULOUS!!! Does it have caffeine? Mint and chocolate are as much a heaven-made-match as PB and choc, with the added benefit of not killing my BFF. It's really hard to find GUs around here, I'll have to hunt them down! |

Extreme Veteran 333 | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Ohhhh.....I love mint chocolate gu! It's like Christmas in your mouth! I'm swimming after work and doing a strength DVD. At lunch I'm climbing stairs again with my paralegal. We do 40 flights up and down (10 trips for all 4 floors) each day! It's sort of fun in a crazy way! Probably climbing stairs will give me a better determination, right? Happy Wednesday, Determinators! |

Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Unfortunately last week's workouts suffered-I had a friend in town. A friend in need always comes before a workout...or two...or three. I didn't miss out on any push-up sessions. This week if off to a great start though.

Master 1632 Almost Canada, WA | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Howdy All! Got a 4 mile run planned for later today and I'm actually looking forward to it....it's been a few days since I ran. I went to the chiro today (back and hip issues) and have I told you how much I love him?! There's nothing like running after a chiro appt ~ too bad he wasn't on hand every time I ran out the door! Got to get my bike into the LBS this weekend ~ having shifting issues and they are doing her 30 day "check up." Plus, I'll have to call first to make sure my guy is there so that he can adjust my fit ~ yeah, I'm lazy and like it when he can do it. God knows I paid enough for this bike...it's the least he can do, right?! |

So, tomorrow I'm off to the LBS to see if they have it. If not, it's online time. I'm just too impatient to order it and wait if I don't have to. |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Yep, what Erica said. My BFF happens to be highly allergic to all nuts (so the PB comment), which means she can't have any caffeinated gels because the caffeine comes from cola nuts. |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Hey gang, a question has come up on another thread, and I wanted to throw it out there for general discussion, which I will accept or ignore depending on how many mint chocolate GUs I receive in the mail. I've been giving a lot of thought to the 30% cutoff. I think I'm going to drop it entirely. I like cutoffs because they weed out the people who are no longer doing the challenge. But with the nature of a lot of people's goals, as you guys pointed out, you just might not be at 30% yet. Also, I didn't expect so many people to have so many goals when I first set up the challenge. So I'm going to take a look at the spreadsheets on Sunday after the second week is done and see if there is any obvious pattern. If there is someone not participating at all, I'll likely drop them. But as long as you are participating, I want everyone to keep chipping away at their goals. As I said before, I don't really care what percentage you get done, I want to see people really challenging themselves to grind through their workouts during good times and bad. Remember, let me know in some form if you are upping your goals, either on here or in a PM. Raising the bar is a big part of what I look at in the standings, so I definitely want to know what's going on. Lemme know what you think. |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination I'M SO ANNOYED!!! School is canceld cause it's snowing just a bit (really, not much). I have a big meeting today for Cole that I have been NEEDING for awhile. I have fought the school and was gonna WIN today! I can't believe it! Seriously. WTF?????? If I didn't know better, I would think they canceled on purpose. No school also means no run for me this afternoon. Crap. Hopefully the YMCA will be open later and I can run on the treadmill. This is not the way I wanted to start my Thursday..... |

Extreme Veteran 333 | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Just wanted to wish everyone a good weekend! I'm headed to Houston today for the weekend and hopefully get to run the Houston HALF marathon this weekend, since the full is a no go! I am getting into this plan more and more since it's less time, pain, etc. and I get to eat good post-race Mexican food and margaritas sooner afterwards! Yep, that sounds really good to me! |

As long as you have communication with the person who's goals are below 30% and they are telling you they are still in the challenge, i say let them stay in the challenge, if you have had no contact and receive no reply about totals being Zero or minimal, i say drop them like a bad habit. Ultimatley it is your challenge and as Queen Sluuger, your final decision is the word!!! that is my .02 Rudy |

I ran in the morning and then we had birthday parties in the afternoon. Fun times! It's snowing here again. I swear it snows every Sunday. Crazy. I'm headed to dinner at a friends tonight. Looking forward to that. Good friends, good food and of course, good wine. |

Tomorrow I have another appt with the chiro so hopefully I'll be able to go back to once a month instead of once a week. I must say, while my back still hurts, my hips have been feeling a million times better. |
