Sorry I have been quiet, been enjoying my rare time off. Crappy run in horrible windy, rainy, haily weather today. It is an "off" week this week so the run was scheduled to be shorter, for which I was thankful. I may try and do another short run tomorrow and maybe hit the pool. The run to get more time in for the month and the pool because I want to try swimming in my new poly jammers and Goggles.

Spandex pics to come of my new Tri top/trip shorts. Though I have to warn you not to look at the bright parts...they are just my legs...Also that big round thing in the middle will just be my stomach    That is ok though, I am using the idea of properly fitting my stomach into the shirt as an impetous for additional core work...starting the 100 push up in 6 weeks thing and the 200 sit ups in 6 weeks plan. Hopefully doing that and being consistant with my training will get me there.

Oh and Happy Easter!

Ok Rangers

I dragged myself to the gym and clocked  32 min on the gym bike with 4*  60 secs one legged spin

Then  hit the weight room for 45 mins targeting   mostly core and upper body .

We are approaching the halfway point of the  month so i am aiming to be at  50% by then .

Happy Monday !

Hey Rangers -
Yesterday was my second rest day of the month for me. I took it since I start p90x today. Hubby wanted to try it so we are going to do it together to keep each other accountable and keep the meals rather easy to prepare. We will see if it kills me before the 90 days are over. I am ready to be sore by Thursday. Goodness.

So today for me is Challenge #1 - Chest, Back and Abs as well as Challenge #2 - no soda, no sweets.

Have a happy  Monday.

Stacie

had a pretty good run! i think a significant part of my problem lately was that i was trying to run without my ipod. what was i thinking?!? i ran with it again today, and i wasn't in nearly the mental anguish that i HAVE been running in! i forgot how much i needed this time to just tune out and focus on NOTHING but the beat of the song, and my feet hitting the pavement!! yay for the black eyed peas!! Is that like 'back in a flash' or 'lickedy splits'
All that talk on regional vernacular on another thread has my mind going in odd directions.

P90x Day 1 is in the books for yesterday 1 hour of chest and back and 15 min of abs.

Total is Day 2 - Plyometrics which is all legs. If I can walk tomorrow it will be a miracle.

Have a good day rangers - train well.

Yes       it was a way of saying a certain amount of time without being specific .

Probably was  a line of dialogue  in a recent movie i saw  ...

Did an  hour +   with   a short run  bike and weight session

My contribution today is about running form and what to focus on when you are out there  making it happen .

There sarah another catch phrase for you ...

Getting a run in tonight when I get home from work. Also going to try and get to the pool to try some new drills since I just got the TI book over the weekend. I think if I can get the drills down in sequence it will be a big help to me. Not sure all of it will work well for how I like to swim but I will give it a try from the beginning to end and see if it makes me like to swim differently (does that make sense?) My only question is do I have time to master or at least get really competent at all the drills and the new stroke in the next 2 months to be able to swim that way on June 20th for my first Tri (1650 yard swim too) will have to think about it once I see how fast (or slow) I progress.

In theory T1 book  is a good idea ,   Its very long winded .

My advice ,  find a  nearby master swim , try it out for a session  and have a good coach look at your stroke and adjust a few things

This will improve your efficiency ...

Next is endurance

Increase  your swim  frequency and yardage up so you can swim a mile (1650yds)  and  have something left in the tank .

for that bike and run part afterwards

I have done several 1650 swims this past spring/winter (not all are logged) so I know I have the endurance to do it, not quickly but I get there. swimming also does not tire me out very much it seems though I need to get some open water practice to really tell. What I am really looking for out of the TI books is better balance to get better speed/proper technique. It is long winded but the descriptions of the drills in such step by step form are really clear to me.

Well i have this 50 mile ride coming up this month so i am trying to  focus  my limited training time on that

but my  Triathon limiter  is  the  swim so i have to get there and spend  QT  in the water .

Job is changing soon so  I will have more time again to swim .

Right now  the work hours are INSANE !

I agree its good info ,     I just found i made quicker  progress  when  a swim coach  looked at and  tuned up my stroke .
