Well, Beth.  I have to bail out for the night.  Gotta be like Barb and get my swim on in the morning.  Have a WONDERFUL trip home, and a safe one, too.

Train hard tomorrow, middle people.

9 PAGES!!  I am in BIG trouble . . . I'm in TWO chatty groups!  I left for one evening and came home to 154 email alerts LOL!!

I'm new to these spreadsheets - do I add my info in each day?  I just got home tonight - is it too late to fill in today's time?  Sorry, I'm sure there are some rules I should know?

Thanks!

Hi Renee!

what a cooincidence that I happen to be in those 2 chatty groups as well -

as far as the spreadsheets go - as long as you have them updated by Sunday night, it really doesn't matter if you do it every day or not

I usually update them at the same time I'm updating by log - just so I remember

Hi, yes this looks like it will be a chatty bunch!

About the spreadsheet, I think we only need to update, officially, in time for the weekly tally. Team Capt will tell us more, but in the past that's how its been on other challenges.

Is the spreadsheet out there and available? Did I miss it? I suppose it's buried somewhere in this thread but damned if I can find it. Is it in the original thread before the breakouts? What's happening? I'm clueless and it's Friday and there's chlorine in my ears!

Please guide this newbie to the challenges in the ways of the spreadsheets

Wait... like Bugles. The cone shaped salty crunchy things? With caramel?

Hold on. That does sound good.

there is something appealing about salty and sweet combined

I'm not convinced that I would love them more than fritos though........

I've got a couple grams bags in my trunk...maybe you could try a few and feel the addiction...

Renee, you can update whenever you have time...the challenge organizers typically collect info for the week on Sunday night...

Allrighty then, it seems like some people are jumping in!  Welcome to everyone who's just been added.  I'm severly html challenged, but I will work on a nice little team box with everyone in it, as well as a link to the spreadsheet that you can post on your blog.  That may not be done till Sunday, though.  In the meantime, a link to the spread sheet is in the very first post of this thread, which in tinkerbeth time is like ten minutes ago.

Basic rules:

1.  You only have to update before midnight of Sunday each week.  Except for this Sunday.  Week 1 is ten days long.  It's not a bad idea to do it as you go, though.  I'll do my best to keep tabs on everybody and make sure we've all got it down.  If you can't figure out (I couldn't for a while), then I'll be glad to update it for you.

2.  Your totals should come straight off your logs, so keep those up.  It's really the only way the challenge masters have of verifying that you really did the work.

3.  Don't be scared to post away in the thread.  Beth will put you on a course to hit 5,000 posts by the end of the week if you're truly dedicated.  A chatty team is a happy team, a happy team is a training team, and a training team is a winning team.

4.  We win or the cattle prod comes out.

5.  The important rules are 1 and 2.  The other rules just make it more fun.

Oh yeah, for those of you who jumped in late, Beth and Barb voted me team captain, though Barb is reconsidering since I'm making her do her own biking this month.  Two votes isn't exactly a majority, but if there are no objections, I'll gladly do it.  I'm sitting this challenge out because the dreaded taper is on the horizon and it's really hard to estimate my times and distances, but I figured I'd stick around and cheer.  I'm addicted to these things anyway, so it's not like I could go cold turkey for a month.

In all her internet power, Beth has coined us "Stuck in the Middle With You."  Thoughts?  Like or no?  We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune.  We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a two-thirds majority in the case of more major....  Any Holy Grail fans out there???

In all seriousness, have fun out there.  We're all here to help each other with the main goal of being better at the end of the month than we are right now.

TRAIN HARD.

Your Cheertator (that's for you Barb),

Just want to say hi to group. I've done three sprints in the last couple years. Around New Years I realized I was way out of shape and signed up for a half ironman in Sept. I'm happily married with two kids( 5 & 8).

My goals:

Bike: 12 hrs (I would have put miles, but I think it's going to snow here again, and I'll stuck on the trainer)

Run: 8 hrs

Swim: 20,000 yds ( It was 6 hours, but it's a more impressive number when i put it in yards. Maybe I should have put it as 1,828,800 cm, but then I'd have to do the math when I update. )

It's a nice chatty group. I like it. Where else would I find this much snack food information.

YAY!!!!

Okay. So do I REALLY have to keep up with my BT log? Fo' reals. Can't I just point you in the direction of my workoutlog.com one I do for my coach?

:sigh:

I can TRY to keep at it again...but you may have to harass me to keep it complete.

BOO HISS.

I could deal with your other one.  The big cheer council in the sky, aka the challenge organizers, might need convincing.

I got away with it in the past. I wasn't sure they actually cross-referenced everything!

I input this week's data a little bit ago.

I'm still super annoyed about the swim this morning. I was in such a zone during it. Imagined myself doing the swim in CdA09 ...minus the washing machine and white caps, of course.

Sleepiness is starting to set in. I may have to result to coffee (which I drink MAYBE three times a year).
