It all depends on if I can get my last run done for September. I had to have my old kitty cat put to sleep today so I bagged todays workout. I'm really sad. I'm having wine for dinner. Anyone want to join me in a toast to my happily resting kitty? Tracy, so sorry about your kitty. Will have a toast in his/her honor tonight. I have one that is almost 20 yrs old and know I'll cry like a baby when the day comes. 20 years old! WOW |

I am super happy for a chatty group! This year was my first year to start doing tri's. My first love is soccer, been playing for 24 yrs (goalie) and continue to play and coach. However, back in March I did a mini tri because someone told me they didn't think I'd do it. I've been hooked ever since.I have a 15 month old daughter and discovered running is the perfect way to have some me time. I am going to do my best to keep up! I joined a recreational soccer league last year. I've never played before and am having a blast. I usually play half back, so lots of running! |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Team 3 Halloween Run Challenge i'm doing 10 sessions of running. Getting ready to walk a 1/2 mary with friends in St. Petersburg, FLA in November. Last 1/2 mary I did the run/walk and killed my feet. That was in April 2008, so this one will be a big test for me. I'm not a good runner and am still trying to build up endurance and distance. |

I am Kendra and I just finished a 10k, it was going to be a 1/2, but did not have enough time. I am done for the season. It was my plan to rest for Oct, but....a run challenge. I am working on speed work, short distances, but more times a week. Hi Kendra! It's great to be on a team with you again! I'm jealous Neal. Are you getting chatty with another "Kendra"? LOL We can have a lot of fun if we had the same avatar. Then you would really have to figure out which one of us was chatting with ya. Edited by kns57 2009-09-30 10:14 AM |

(Stepping up, I know.) Hubby has been fixing it up for me. Got new brake cables last weekend, so now I'll be able to stop. It's not fancy, but it's lighter than the hybrid. If I keep saving my pennies, I'll be able to get one of those new-fangled super-fast bikes someday. (Of course, if I keep spending my pennies on races...) I just found a du in October that's not too far from me. It might get race-tested soon! (Plus I have some good incentive to run.) and when you do get that new fangled bike...you are going to FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY girl! I guess I dont want to tell you what was donated to me by a BTer yesterday!!!?? it is one suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuweeet tri bike....cost him $3000 when he bought it in 2007 and then he upgraded the aerobars to carbon fiber...as well as some of the other bike components....he donated it to me for my friends cause....so, if any of you want a really nice bike...I will be listing it soon! here is a picture: here is a link to the story about my friend...this was just published a few weeks ago in his local paper...even has a small quote from me - at the end....VERY SOBERING! and SAD! so get your tissue out! http://www.fresnobee.com/sports/story/1644414.html on a lighter story...we are getting closer to getting his van...and we are now in the process of filling out an application for the home edition/extreme makeover show. he has a home near yosemite that needs to be fixed so that he can get his wheelchair in and around. oh...I ride a road bike too...and this bike would fit me! I may just have to make a bid or two on it! if you need parts for your bike...I have tons around here! let me know....my husband could start a bike store with all his spare parts/bikes! |

Hi Julie, this is my second month of training and my second challenge. I am still learning to jog but it is improving. I have a 5k fun run on Thanksgiving and on New Year's. I hope to jog most of the Turkey run and jog all of the New Year's run. I had a time goal but my speed is pretty slow, so we shall see. Now I know who the Dorothy is on your Log Page. Very cool .... yeah...I dont bring it up much..because it is quite a bummer...but it also grounds me and reminds me why I am here! glad to see you on this team! you will be soo ready for that Turkey run by the end of this month! and New Years run will be a walk in the park for you! |

I just found a du in October that's not too far from me. It might get race-tested soon! (Plus I have some good incentive to run.) Ahh, I can relate. My bike was my step-daughter's bike when she was in 5th Grade (12 years ago). She was about as tall then as I am now. It is a youth bike so it is a little short from seat to bars but I put on an adjustable stem that helps. For now it has wider "off-road" tires because our roads are rough and will be winter wet. Our hi temp has already dropped into the 50s this week. BRRR we must be neighbors - I am freezing this morning....slept with the patio door open and windows...and this morning I can not get warm! this week we are in the high 60's...was 90's last week.... - quite the radical change....guess, fall is here! |

It's been over a year since I've been in one, so I thought I'd give one a go again. Just finished my 3rd year of doing tri's last week. I have a great time doing them, but I've never enjoyed running very much, and it's starting to really drag down my results as I get better swimming and biking. Did a 1/2 marathon in May, and I'm doing the same one as Stacie in Pgh on 11/1 - Hi Stacie! Looking forward to this challenge to help make sure I get my miles in this month! and my name is Bob, not Willie! hey Bob....I have a HM im doing this weekend.....and I feel your running pains! we will do all we can to help you to get to that running level you are wanting to achieve....and you can help me to get back to the pool...going this afternoon with my daughter...hope I remember how to swim!!!?!! |

Just one more day till the challenge officially starts! Good morning! The kids are off to school and I am trying very hard to get the fire going in the wood stove. (41 degs and damp, bleh.) I am not going to survive the winter if I don't get this fire thing figured out. My hubby throws some stuff in there, lights a match, and - bingo - roaring fire. I do exactly what he tells me to, and I get little flames that burn out before the logs light. Sigh. If I suddenly stop posting, send someone to chip the ice off me. are you next door, Debbie? I just got up....was building a fire and noticed the temp to be 49 degrees...not damp...just a tad foggy...soon will be sunny and mid 60's...which is still chilly for me! Im old and my blood is not circulating as well! haha |
