Howdy Melindy.  You are a running and swimming machine.

So how many podiums do you have?

Podiums=0...in tri...no podiums for a really long time in swimming...haha

I hope to podium this season...March 27 is the first test!

You will - you are a rockstar and podium star waiting to happen!  Take lots of pictures when it does because I know I won't (unless they all quit!)

You've already podiumed in my book with all the training you've managed.  Wow, the 27th is just around the corner.  Are you all set?

I guess? Its just an indoor sprint--pool swim, spin bike and track run...750m, 20km, 4km...We will see what happens I guess!

You'll be out of the water before some finish their first 100m.  Laughing

Good afternoon/evening Ghoulies. I had a very fun meeting this morning for a big upcoming security exercise. To be honest it was a big snore fest, but it's part of the gig. It'll be fun to watch some of their plans fail when they try to implement them for the first time, but that's why they do these things...

I hope everyone's having a good day so far. Anyone else still around?

Hi Tom.  I'm still here for a bit.  Going to try and leave early to get a jump start on my trainer session tonight.

Sounds like a fun morning.  My mom (before she retired some years ago) was the school psychologist and coordinated crisis drills post 9/11 for the school system at Ft Benning.  Used to hear some pretty funny stories about those.  I think she mostly liked hanging out with the cute young MPs. Wink  She's turning 70 this year and still an outrageous flirt.

That's funny My involvement will be minimal since recruiters aren't exactly big players in the physical security world, but as our command coordinator I'm involved that way. When I was on the ship I was front and center for all this stuff, which made it a lot more interesting.

Well, even if the prep meetings are boring maybe the actual drills will provide some entertainment.

That's pretty much a guarantee! I just wish I was on a "bigger" part of the complex so I could see the real fun. As long as I beat the traffic into base that is... Oh how I love mile long lines of cars waiting to be searched

Ok, sorry to leave you all by your lonesome Tom but I'm heading out.  Maybe Dee or Amy will pop in.  I'll be back later to see what you've been up to.  Off to ride the trainer.  It is March Biking Madness after all.  Since I ran this morning, it is this challenge team that is pushing me to get this ride in.  Thank you all.

LOL.  Post 9/11 it took hours to get on base at Benning.  People started taking potty breaks openly along the shoulder.  Men and women.  I really hope my mom never did that.

Ok, seriously going to sign off now.

EVENING GHOULIES.

man what a day. in a good way.

i got 4 out of 6 miles done.

i KNEW i could do 6, i just cut it short cuz i was running on the indoor track and with the tight turns i was starting to feel it in my hip.

no need to push it.

i just went with 20 mins of an uber focused ab workout.

ive done a decent job working on my upper abs and my obliques, but ive been missing my lower abs.

talked to two friends/trainers at the Y and they gave me some pointers on exercises that will target that 'section' of abs.

man.  they were right.  those exercises SURE DO target the flabbier parts of my abdominals.

i can tell they are weaker than the rest of the abs i've been pounding the past few months.

but....not.....for.......long.

starting to get squirrely for the indoor tri at our Y on the 21st.

FUNNY WHAT A LITTLE LIFTING OFF OF ALL EXPECTATIONS WILL DO TO A PERSON.

i made a commitment to myself at the start of this thing.....if/when training turned into a HAVE TO RATHER THAN A WANT TO i would find another pursuit.

remember.  i do this for FUN.

seems that laying off the expectations/laying the plan aside/doing what i feel like doing when i feel like doing it for as long as i feel like doing it is helping TONS.

i even got me a bonafide CHRISSY WELLINGTON VERSION, TYR SPLICE TRI SUIT just for the occasion

need someone to cover my shift that day i usually work Sundays.

ive been covering everyone elses so it shouldnt be hard.

hopefully someone will step up soon......dont want to miss out on all the TRI'IN FUN!

hey my wonderful Ghoulies! I miss being in the Village. I tried to catch up but there is no way. I'll be home Friday evening and catch up on Sat. Tom, I am sorry about the loss of that fine young girls life. The horror makes my stomach turn. Thank you so much for caring and giving good advise. I have mace but currently can't find it. A lot of good that would do, eh. I will find it ASAP when I get home, My family thanks you in advance.

Ann, I have my shirt, I haven't' seen it. My DH tells me it is very cool. Of course I know it is. This weekends run will be in it. Photo, even of me who hates photos.

I am still in Raleigh, another day of training to go. (FWIW, I don't sleep during the training  and I could teach this one but I try to not be annoying to the person who has to teach it either- my attention span is somewhat lacking). Workouts have been sporadic as I have actually, for a change, been enjoying spending time with coworkers and the ability to workout here has been challenging.

Catch up on Friday!

Yes. Yes I do.

BUT

Where will you be in your studies in 2011. You already have tremendous workouts, but will you be able to do the workouts and keep up with school next year?

Ironman's will always be there. School comes first at this point in time.

I know that was no help at all, but the decision is yours to make, not mine.
