I gots me a boy ... well, at least for a while. Boy toy leaves in two weeks.

Rach, he is from Albany!

Boy, is he smart though. He was my quiz partner last night.

His first thought on meeting me was, "Wow. She's cute."

His second thought after a bit of chatting, "Good grief, she is a nerd and why doesn't she shut up."

His thoughts after quiz, "This is the cleverest girl I've ever met and she's beautiful and I really really really hope I score."

After the whole night, he was completely speechless and comatose on my floor.

Tongue out

Oooh - how exciting!!!! Make the most of your 2 weeks and Albany isn't so far anyway!

So I'm excited!

I am in need of a new car. There's nothing technically wrong with my current one - a Dodge SX - but it's 9 years old and little things are starting to go - and it's small. I'd really like something a bit bigger, something a bit more reliable in the winter, something that can handle rough roads as I do a lot of back-country hiking in the summers, etc etc - something in which I can carry my bike without having to pop the front wheel off then jam the whole thing in the trunk (effectively messing up something every time) ... yet money's tight, and I don't want to buy something just for the sake of buying something - I'd rather save my money and get a quality used vehicle when I can afford it.

Well - in addition to being a police officer, my boyfriend also owns an auto brokerage (he's one of those freaky people that never sleeps) ... and a few days ago he got a line on a used Land Rover Freelander that a friend a friend is wanting to sell - for cheap! The seller is an oil exec and it's his "weekend vehicle" and he thinks it's time to upgrade - and I can afford what he's asking! (He's asking literally half of what he could get for it, silly goose.)

We're still trying to get a few more details, but if all goes well, I'll have a new car very soon! Woot woot!

Yay for a new car!! A new car is one my list of things to buy in the next couple years.

Ok I have a question.... So I've decided to do Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred dvd for 30 days.  I wanna see what kind of results I get.  I started yesterday which means day 30 is the day I graduate.  I'm obviously going to allow myself some off days (1 per week) so I don't overdo it.  Well tomorrow I have a 5k.  I've given up on this being a PR since my allergies have been horrible and they really act up when I run outside.  So this 5k will strictly be just a fun thing for me and James to do.  The 5k is at 7pm tomorrow night.  Should tomorrow be an off day from 30 day shred or should I do it anyway since the 5k is just for fun now?  I can't make up my mind... been going back and forth trying to figure out what would be best for me to do.... thoughts???

Emma, I would use it as the off day since your allergies are acting up and the 5K, even for just fun iw going to stress your body enough.

That's what I'm leaning towards now.  I just found it it's supposed to be pouring down rain tomorrow during the 5k.  Not sure if this will be good or bad... either it will make the allergies better or I'll be struggling with the allergies and the rain.

owl_girl - 2011-04-13 3:46 PM My frigging computer died!  Thank goodness I backed it up just a couple weeks ago so I didn't lose very much.  I'll be using my husband's computer until I, a) get my computer fixed, or b) get a new computer.  I'm so depressed.  It's like losing an old friend. Cry

To me, losing a computer is a mixture of frustration/excitement. Frustration because I don't really want to spend the time to build another computer but also excitement to finally have a reason to get rid of the old piece of computer that I currently have. A smart phone has more processing power.

Is it one DVD for 30 days? I am going to Costa Rica in 24 days and still have a flabby belly despite my best efforts to eat as much pizza as I can get my hands on and exercise often. Hmph...

Still mad at MrNotSoWonderfulPT.....what a waste of time doing 1 min jog 30 sec walk.  Why even bother??  I will spend half my time worrying about what time is it!?!

It's one DVD with 3 levels.  What I'm doing is level 1 for 10 days level 2 for 10 and level 3 for 10 days.  It's pretty tough... it's only 20 minutes but it's Jillian Michaels so its a very tough 20 minutes.

I was a lazy booger last night...  Work was crazy and thought I'd be able to work out once the kids were in bed.  But hubby insisted on having hockey playoffs on.  I SO didn't want to watch that on the drainer so I went to bed instead.  Embarassed

I'm actually glad I did...  Today is not shaping up to be a great one.  Hubby (aka Mr Dumbazz who didn't call the dentist yesterday) had a toothache all night and woke me up at 3 am to help him look for orajel.  He's headed for a root canal now.  Since he finally got to sleep around 4 I let him sleep in and had to get the kids ready solo, which is ok.  But I noticed my dd has some new petechiae...  So we're headed to get her platelets checked this afternoon.  The poor girl is so stressed about the possibility of having to get another round of treatment.  And it's report card day for her too!

I think I'm really going to need a good workout tonight...  followed up by a good bottle of wine!
