Kat, there always needs to be a great proposal story, even if the story is better than the actual proposal.  Here is mine.

Had dinner with "not yet hubby" and his 4 yr old daughter.  Met her for the first time that day.  We brought her back home to his dad's house where he was living at the time, and his dad gave him holy He!! for bringing her back home way after her bed time.  We then went to the beach for a walk, and since I had a drink at dinner, and one drink does it for me, and I was upset about his dad being mad at us, I decided to take a swim in the Pacific ocean at 10:00pm in the dark.  "not yet hubby" freaked out trying to get me back out of the water as he does not swim well at all.  I came out and before I could go back in, he tackled me down into the sand.  Kissed me and then proposed.  He then took me home and helped me get into bed.  He then went home.  The next morning I woke up and I was trying to remember "did he really propose to me last night and did I say yes?"  Guess I did cause it will be 30 years of marriage this July.    I still like him too!

Well I had a couple of days off work (13/14 march) as we were going to a concert on the Thursday night... so that day he took me out for Brunch and then we went shopping for the ring...

It was pretty exciting... then it went off to get sized...and Ive been WAITING!

So.. he was so excited he let it slip to a couple of friends, to the point where I got a call from one of his friends wives congratulating us so my response when S walked in the door was 'get the ring, tell your parents' - they would have been so upset to hear from anyone but him!

So he proposed last Sunday just at home hanging out in bed and I got the ring on Monday, which would have been his grandparents 63rd wedding anniversary... so starting with a bit of good luck!

It took almost 24 hours after that to get a hold of my mum so we have kept it pretty much off social media until later last week just so I could tell the people I wanted!

Ummm... we decided over the weekend to have an engagement party in August so thats all the plans i have so far... but its all quite strange but in a really good way :D

And Im already checking out bridal magazines... dunnow what hte US ones are like btu the Aussie ones are very pretty!

Working on it - my mum is chasing me for the same thing but I think I might need to wait until S is off night shift to enlist his skills with the fancy camera!!!

Its a sapphire with diamond setting - white gold setting, yellow gold band.. a bit of an unusual choice but almost everyone of my friends have said it suits me perfectly... still getting used to wearing it!
